2012 Brass Wishlist

What can I say, I am covered up with 22 hornet, 222 rem., .223 rem., .243 win., 300 Whisper (my favorite playing around and suburban deer sniper round), and .308 win. brass. The 7x57 is new to me and I need to be covered up with good brass here also. I bought an old red pad Ruger No. 1 full stock 7x57 on a whim just because she is so darn pretty. I have been more than pleased after shooting the rifle. This shorty rifle is made for a tree stand, well that and my 16 inch contender carbine in 300 whisper.

No, its just ironic. Big Green and all of ther others have been ignoring the "7 Mauser Family" of brass for so long that it has become silly. They are pushing, pushing, pushing medium cased calibers in AR tops and in 6.5mm and 7mm based on the .308 "modern" cartridge case and ignored the Mauser case which actually has more capacity! This includes their own 6 mm Rem. I guess it is just harder to ignore and dump a cartridge case design than it is the electronics widget of the week.

No, as a guy who wants to play with a .260 pretty badly, Remington is not pushing the 6.5 on the x51/.308 case very hard at all! (But I get your point, and agree. Big fan of the 6mm Remington here.)
