.358” projectiles out of spec is quite common I’ve been finding out lately

The 180gr TTSX shot very well and will be my hunting load in the woods this year. The 225gr BT flat out shoot out of my CVA 35 Whelen. 250gr Hornadys have been a struggle.

Can bullet weight alone make a big difference in precision, or powder?

I can honestly say yes. Nosler 260gr E-tip will not cooperate with my 375 Wby. Every bullet otherwise will flat out shoot.

.358” projectiles out of spec is quite common I’ve been finding out lately

I went and dug out some of those 180gr TTSX and they measure .357”. Next I measured some 225gr BT and .357”. Then I moved onto some .338 TTSX 210 and 225 both measure .337” and the same with 300gr CC. I going to say my dial calipers are probably 0.001” off as they aren’t high quality , but they...

    .375" 260 gr Nosler Accubond

From experience the 180gr AB with a muzzle velocity of 3500fps will make a big hole in any whitetail. AB are a stout bullet that needs some extra horsepower behind it.

OK Nosler what is this about?????

To me it looks like overpriced loaded lead tip ammo. According to Hornady those lead tips would melt at long range😁 A little late in the year for a new offering when most hunters have their loads worked up and ready for the field.

Leupold let me down today ? But not Today 2

Crimson Trace is a brand I took a liking to lately. Several times throughout the year MidwayUSA and Amazon run real good deals on them.

Group testing my Remington 7600 carbine in 35 Whelen with 180 grain hot cores

I’ve loaded for the 742 and 7400 and each one shot best with mild loads.

    Savage 30-30

If not already done , a good barrel scrubbing is in order. IMR 3031 is a good choice for the 30-30. Work up to 31grs with 150gr bullet and you should find a load.

    The Turdy-Turdy

My brother and his buddy have several of these 30-30s. I know at local gun shows these babies have a premium price tag.

    The Turdy-Turdy

Today I got around making holes in paper with the Savage. I thru on a Weaver 3x9 I had laying around. This side mounted scope base is a little higher than I like. The trigger has a lot of creep built into it. I’m impressed by this little guy. I shot 2 groups with WRE primers with 39.7 grs of...

Sure wish Nosler would bring back the .358 (and .375) ballistic tip

My Whelen’s easy button are the 225 BT.

    300WM and barrel length

I guess I’m the odd guy. Each barrel I’ve replaced lately has been long and heavy. 340 Wby 28” HV contour 375 Wby 25” Sendero contour
