Big cow, one shot. Big bull. No complaints. I take that back, I wish it hadn't been so steep. P Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    7mm-08

I started experimenting with the 150 ELDX last year after two of our bucks were taken at over 500 yards, 140 Partition and 140 Accubond. The 150 ELDX has a significantly better BC but let's face it, BC differences don't much matter inside of 500, maybe even farther. More weight means less...

    7mm-08

I've been using the 7mm-08 exclusively for years. I load for 4 7mm-08s, all Tikkas. 2013, 140 Partition, 68 yards, one shot, DRT. 2015, 140 Partition, 346 yards, one shot, DRT. My dad, 2015, 140 Accubond, 225 yards, one shot, 90 feet. My nephew, 2017, 150 ELDX, 407 yards, dead on...

10-shot load development begin, 30-06, Ramshot Hunter

Hunter is all I use in 5 or 6 .30-06s. 59.0 grains with a 180 Partition with a Winchester Large Rifle Magnum primer gets me right at 2825 from a Tikka barrel. If that won't kill it, it don't need killin'. P

    Reloader 17 for 7mm-08

I found good accuracy but pedestrian velocity with Reloader 17 using 140 Partitions out of a Tikka T3. I switched to Big Game and used Winchester Large Rifle Magnum primers and got slightly better accuracy and significantly better velocity. I use Big Game exclusively in my 7mm-08s as well as a...

Load help, 70 gr RDF in a .223

I told the 70 gr RDF to KMA and found a load using 69 gr Custom Competition with H4895. 3035 fps with sub-MOA (.461") accuracy. P

    280 R.E.M., 22" barrel

My new load is 150 ELDX at really close to 2800 fps. My nephew killed his first bull this year with this load at 407 yards. 5x6 bull. I killed a 4x4 buck with this load, 30 foot recovery. Run the figures, it's a surprisingly persuasive killer. P

    280 R.E.M., 22" barrel

FYI I'm a 7mm-08 homer. I've killed deer, elk, and antelope using 140 grain bullets started at 2877 fps using Big Game powder and Winchester Large Rifle Magnum primers. Plug those figures into a ballistics program and evaluate the real-world difference 150 fps makes. Zero. P

    Loading on the lands...

I do it the same way. I color a bullet with a black Sharpie and seat the bullet on an empty unprimed case. I seat gradually shorter until the marks left by the lands are square. That's my max OAL. P

Hodgdon lists 26 grains as max for a 70 grain SPR SP. I loaded 6 each (3 per rifle) at 25, 25.5, and 26 grains, 2.281". I'll shoot over the chrony tomorrow. P

CCI400 primer, Remington cases, no idea the case volume. 22 7/16" barrel. What does QL suggest for the max load? Thanks, P
