Just curious if anybody is using firewood to heat their home and what saws you are using?
I cut a lot of windfall on the homestead and also on occasion get permits from the state.
Picked up a never used 35P for $75 a few years back. At this point in life I doubt I would use a new chronograph much as most of my shooting is only 100 yards. That being said I have some friends who do enjoy long range shooting and they use the Labradar. Now these guys would complain if there...
Even if it got dark on you it’s always nice to finish the day doing something you like to do.
Just reading about it and knowing my own limitations I found the report quite impressive.
Roosevelt. This one got run off by a three point during the rut last year. Will be interesting to see how many calves we get this year.
Had a good six point on the place several years ago which is the biggest bull I’ve seen on the homestead. Usually smaller bulls seem to hang around here.
It rains so much here I actually don’t shoot much during the Winter. Got into pellet guns a couple of years ago and I have a bench set up under cover and enjoy doing that when the weather isn’t cooperating.
I feel very fortunate being a career laborer in a paper mill to be able to enjoy the retirement on the homestead. We didn’t get rich by any means but it was good steady employment with 7 12 day vacations and 5 additional days off annually, a bit of a pension and was able to land a position for...
Just some footage of the shooting ranges and food plot on the homestead. Nothing exciting.
The food plot was a jumble of brush and logging debris when I had it cleared last Spring.
I tilled and planted a supposed good mix for deer but due to drought conditions I couldn’t plant until late Autumn...
Just a short trail cam video of a bobcat and coyotes.
There is a cacophony of sealions barking in the Columbia River a mile away.
They’re after the smelt and salmon in the river.
Makes fishing hard as they will take fish off the line any opportunity they will get. Had one chase my lures right...
A few more pics of yesterday’s fun. Thankful at this point to have a good buddy who ends up doing most of the work. He gets to use my other land owner tag so between the two of us we have a great chance of putting some meat in the freezer each year.
He was willing to spend most of the morning...
Filled the cow elk tag this morning.
Not the best video. With the camera mount on the scope the cross hairs look crooked in the video if the camera isn’t lined up right.
With the short scope rings on this rifle I need to leave it loose so I can remove it quickly to cycle the bolt.
I have a cow tag for the property so if I get a chance I will put her down. I got later video of her and she was moving quite a bit better. Was actually covering the ground at a good pace.
Interesting one night they were in the area and the coyotes were hanging right with them. I don’t know if...
