In my Remington Model 600 Centennial in 6mm Remington the flash is noticeable with it also. Using IMR4350. I don't think there is anything you can do really except a suppressor possibly to help out. Nature of the beast I'm afraid.
Congratulations on the elk and nice shooting. Those Accubonds sure deserve praise for how well they shoot and perform. Looks like they did exactly as they should. Penetrate deeply, expand nicely, and hold together.
I have really liked using the Nosler Accubonds in several different rifles and they have performed well on game.
280AI: 140 gr. Nosler Accubond 1-shot at 158 yards on my Arctic grizzly bear. Bullet exited the off side just behind the shoulder. The bear spun 180 degrees into the shot, did...
I've had great success over the years with Nosler Partitions and Accubonds, as had my son. They have never let us down. In his Ruger MKII in 6mm Remington I worked a load up shooting 90 gr. E-tips at 3140 fps. With that bullet he has taken antelope, deer, and his first elk which was a big...
On X maps can sure help in this regard. You can download areas you plan on hunting before you even head out and that way you have them on On X to use even if there is no cell service in the area. It's such a great tool to use to keep you from having such an issue as described. It shows...
I used 165 gr. Partitions in two different 30-06 rifles I had. I started with a Remington 700 ADL and I used 57.4 grs of IMR4350 with the bullets seated to 3.375. This was a brand new rifle and I had no issues with that magazine length and seating depth. Also the chamber was long enough that...
Guy the 25-06 seems like it's been talked about more on different sites so maybe it's having a resurgence. In addition to the 6mm Remington, the 25-06 is just too darned good of a cartridge for it to die on the vine. The 257 Roberts is another one to add to that list. Great little...
He graduated with a Masters in Social Work and a Masters Divinity. Jeff is 28 years old now and he working towards being a chaplain and joining the Navy after he recieves that. He would like to do a 3 year stint in the Navy and then be finished with that. Currently Jeff is working at the...
Thank you. It's been rough with the shoulder saga. The last two surgeries were numbers 4 and 5 on my right shoulder. This has to be the last one, I'm praying anyway. Previous doctor misdiagnosed my problem and kept doing surgeries after they failed and not addressing the problem. I do not...
My son moved back a year ago from Waco where he attended Baylor and he graduated with two Master's Degrees. He got his Montana residence back and was able to hunt again for the first time in 12 years. Jeff left the house a few mornings ago and went to a spot east of town about 20 miles. He...
If it doesn't have to be a factory stock, I am really impressed with the Boyds nutmeg laminate we put on my son's Ruger MKII 6mm Remington.
You can even have them pillar bedded before they ship them out, and several checkering options.

IMR7828SSC is what I use in my 280AI with both the 140 gr. Partition and Accubond. Same load for both bullets. The Partitions Chronograph at 3230 fps and the Accubonds 3186 fps.
I'm going to start a conspiracy theory here. I think the mail/government is doing this intentionally on firearms related items. I recently ordered some paper rifle targets from Rite in the Rain. I know, who knew they made targets that had the same weather properties that Law...
