I've shot nothing but Nosler bullets since my father started me out at the age of 12 loading 100 gr. Partitions for deer, antelope, and elk if I got a shot at one. Those were in my Remington Model 600 in 6mm Remington. Never got an elk with that 6mm but did later with my Ruger 1B in the same...
Great pictures and story Guy. Love the rifle even if it is chambered in the 6.5 Man Bun! We have a Boyds wood laminate on my son's Ruger MKII in 6mm Remington. They are fantastic stocks and are rock solid and strong. I had it pillar and glass bedded, and the checkering done on it by...
110 gr. Nosler Accubond That bullet would be fantastic in the 257 Roberts I feel. I sure love the Accubond and in the 257 Roberts you would be able to load it to good velocitys. The Accubonds have been easy to load for in a 25-06 that was my wifes, my 30-06, and my 280AI. According to...
Never had any Accubonds fail me. I do not us the Accubond LR, just the standard Accubond. Pictures tell the story. 25 yards into water jugs lined up.
25 yards into water jugs. Smoking right along. 3208 fps at the muzzle.
Great little rifle and in 350 Remington magnum that thing I bet bites on both ends! My father purchased this Remington 600 Centennial in a little country store near the Beartooth Mountains in Montana in about 1968 for $99.00 brand new. It was built in 1964 to commerate the 100th anniversary...
In my wifes 25-06 I used IMR 4350 with 120 gr. Nosler Partitions. The load was 49.0 grs. that chronographed at 3000 fps in her Remington 700 Mountain rifle with the 22' barrel. It shot well with no pressure issues and long case life. Worked on lots of antelope, deer, and a couple of elk.
Holly crap what a mess! I suspect you might have said a cuss word or two under your breath. Now your new shelves look just like something my father might make. Everything he made was stout stout stout. I think I pretty much took right after him in that respect.
As for your new 270...
Good neighbors are hard to come by. Good like minded hunters are even scarcer. Put the two together and it's a heck of a loss for all. Knowing good people like that is pretty special.
As Guy noted my son does use it in his 6mm Remington and has killed 2 antelope one shot each, one mule deer buck one shot, and a large cow elk at 350 yards one shot. It has expanded nicely as noted by the damage and has penetrated very well. It shoots accurately as well.
Pretty sure his...
