Cold & Clean BBL first shot flyer

I believe clean barrel is more often responsible for first shot fliers. Every barrel is different. I like a fouled barrel, and I find it plenty consistent over a three shot string (for hunting). You could also clean between single shots to see how reproducible the cold-clean conditions...

    RL-26 270 WSM 130 Scirocco

You’re gonna love it if it shoots for ya’. Also a reminder that pure copper Sciroccos foul easier than gilded metal bullets like NABs and Hornady’s, and they tend to not shoot as well if the fouling gets too bad...like most bullets. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Bad Lot Of Reloder 19?

That is significant I agree. Is your brass the same? Different cases, different volume, different pressures, etc. You know the deal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Bad Lot Of Reloder 19?

I have not heard anything about a bad lot of RL-19 recently, but there is frequently a bit of variability between lots, for any brand of powder. I suggest you bump your charges up a bit to see if you approach a satisfactory resolution to your problem. There’s nothing wrong with pouring a bit...

how about 130 scirocco 270 wsm?

Just make sure you start 0.030” off the lands and continue to seat in to 0.100” or more. Sciroccos need plenty of jump. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

how about 130 scirocco 270 wsm?

My .270 WSM X-bolt preferred 130gr Sciroccos with RE-22. Actually RE-22 was best for all bullets I loaded. I have killed a pile of whitetail with them from every angle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Questions on Fire Forming 280 AI brass

Just load a good stiff load, within upper end of book specs, with whatever bullet and powder combo you choose, jammed .010”. If you can get a “crush fit” thats fine too, just make sure you’re on the shoulder and not the case mouth. You do not want to download while fire forming. You don’t want...

.308" 190 LRAB neck sizing problem

It may be a seating depth issue if you seated it past the bearing surface, but its not an ogive issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Recoil Intolerance..what gives?

Muscle cars of the 60s and 70s vs the refined sports cars of today. Just a more appealing delivery and comfort level used to achieve better results. Newer powder, case design, and bullet technology have helped reduce the gap between competitors through reduced recoil as well. Recoil heroes...

    Nickel & Brass Cases

I stay away from reloading nickel plated cases due to cracking and chipping as has been stated. You can destroy a resizing die with nickel cases. Seems like it would be difficult to get really good nickel case consistency as well. If you want shiny cases that are weather resistant, just tumble...

What to do with a Remington 742?

I got a used 742 .30-06 for my ninth birthday, just over 39 years ago. Put a Bushnell sportview on it and used it through my adolescence. Through gradeschool , highschool, and college, i killed every deer i shot at. Many many many deer. Started out with 180gr round nose CoreLokts but switched...

    sub-sonic 30.06

You can use shotgun buffer as a filler for metallic cartridges. It can help eliminate hangfires. Not sure about trailboss loads, but i would difinitely look into filling the case as much as possible. Having said all that, i have used H4895 at 60% of book recommendation as is commonly done. May...
