I'm currently trying to get my sps 308 to shoot really well. I got it down to .8 with 165 ballistic tips and varget. I'm now messing around with the 168 grain ballistic tips and have it down to around an inch with reloader 15.
Whats your pic for the best powder for the 165s and 168s. I'd like...
That quick load for the 45 grainer is pretty close to what I got with the x. 25.5 grains h335...cci br4 primers in Remington cases gave me around 3350-3380 depending on temps. The thing is hammer on milk jugs. 4 jugs blown apart with pedals in the 4th jug and a hole in the 5th where the base of...
Shooting deer and accidentally hitting one in the shoulder. I have had more than a few 64 grain bullets come apart and not stay on course when fired into thick muscle.
Thanks boss! I was loading the 63 grain sierra and they do kill deer however I had a few experiences that lead me to believe that they may not work well enough on a big deer or a decent sized pig. I was using 748 in those loads so I may try it again with the nosler 64. My gun has also liked the...
I have been thumping deer with the 45 to 53 grain tsxs in my 222 rem. i like to tinker so when i found the. 64 bsb s oat sps on overrun i decided to get some. im thinking remington cases with cci br4, cci regular or winchester primers. i have blc2, 748, varget, h335, aa2015, aa2520, re 7. i...
Bullet and jacket were found separated in the bottom of the third jug. There was a major dent in the back of the fourth jug. I don't think that the bullet could have dented the fourth jug any more without going inside of it.
I am particularly interested in the 160 grain accubond and the 175 grains partition. Something that could be smashed into the side of a 700 pound black bear or moose at 25 yards yet still expand on a 155 pound deer at 400 yards.
I measured the case capacity and came up with 86 grains of water from a fired case. Rifle is a 24 inch barreled Remington 700 with the throat cut for a 175 grains partition so that the coal set so that the bullet set so that the bullet hits the rifling at 3.65 inches.
my experience is that the ballistic tips are some of the most hunting bullets out there. On deer size game I think that they are tough enough. I won't comment on their ability to kill anything larger than deer because I have never done so.
I have some of that n 570 ....I'm normally against compressing that much powder but if someone here thinks that it might work I might try it. I'm actually running a an old 7mm mashburn wildcat. I think that the round is basically a necked down 300 win mag. I wasn't sure how to get load data for...
i worked up a load with 7828 and 150 ball tip. I think that I should have used a tougher bullet because here in pa bear and deer are in at the same time. Some of our bears are like 800 pounds and can be shot at close range. I'm having my doubts about the 150 grainer being able to go through a...
I am wondering what quick load has to say about what powders to use in the 7mm weatherby as to the highest velocity. 150 grain ballistic tips,160 grain accubond, and 175 grain partition. thanks
Yeah I already tried the partition but my 1-14 twist didn't like it. The weird thing is that my dads 788 222 1/14 twist did shoot that bullet to just over an inch.
