30 carb is a semi-rimmed but more of a rimless case- PS even if you have carbide dies I recommend a lil bit of case lube since the case is tapered it will go more smoothly resizing. if you have miltary brass the primer pocket might need to be cleaned up to be able to reprime
yep it has taken 2 bears, assisted with a friends bear, 2 Roosvelt elk about 13 blacktail deer, 1 muledeer and a coyote. Its one of those guns that when you pull the trigger something is dead.
Remington 760 2x7 leupold w/ german post #2 reticle, 35 whelen with 250 grn part took this bear at 25 yards- watching a trail that bears use to walk down a ridge. If I go after bear this year I plan to take my marlin guide gun 45-70 with 1.5-5 leupold and probably use a 425 cast bullet going...
I got a rem 760 a previous owner rechambered from 35 rem to Whelen. It wears a Leupoldvx-2 2-7 with german post #2 reticule. It is great here in Western Oregon, anyone I have met that has a Whelen just loves the round. I have used mine for 12 Blacktail deer, 1 muledeer, 2 bull roosevelt elk, 2.5...
I have a traditions Evolution 50 cal. I use 100 grns of Shockys gold powder and a 350 grn bullet I cast using a lee mold. I took a nice Blacktail buck 3 yrs ago with it.
