    Crushed another Leupold

Just out of curiosity because I’m dealing with the same thing on my .260 rem, but I think I narrowed it down to a bad/ loose/ wobbly front rest. What do you use as a front rest? I called vortex with thinking it was the scope, they recommended dropping the in/lbs from 18 to 15/16. I took the...

SNAFU.....Rifle? Scope? Load ? less than3 weeks to resolve

One thing you can do is use a .5mm pencil to trace where your scope rings meet the scope and add a little tic mark going from the ring to the scope so you can tell when your scope starts to walk out of the rings while shooting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Warm weather load development

I got a chamber chiller from a guy for myself and my dad a couple weeks ago. Pricey, but compact enough to take along on prairie dog hunts and cool the barrels down quicker. Do a google search for “chamber chiller” and it’ll come up. Someday I’ll get my 3d printer and will make my own...

270 Win 140 AB Assistance needed

I’m having the same issue with a .260 rem and 140’s. Finally gave up on it, loaded 129 ablr’s and shot a fantastic group at 100. I adjusted my scope two clicks left and shot a bad 3” group at 100. Scopes off the rifle and is heading back to vortex on Monday. It’s tracking was bad during the...

    Field maintenance?

I keep extra electricians tape behind my scope rings to act as a ‘tell’ if my scopes alignment is jarred. And after the shot I peel it off and replace the spent one. Underneath the tape, I use a .5 mm lead pencil and trace where the rings are on the scope and make an index mark to tell if it’s...

    7mm Rem mag Quickload help?

It doesn’t matter what another cartridges max saami is... it’s illogical to think that one cartridge is safe at xx,xxxx because another cartridge has been rated at xx,xxx. And a max Saami psi isn’t created by taking samples from other cartridges. It’s set for a pretty good reason. Why flirt...

    7mm Rem mag Quickload help?

Yes, I have a 7 rem mag, and it’s saami is 61,000. I don’t think being belted means it can handle higher pressures, or that the belt assist it in doing so... https://www.google.com/amp/s/gundigest. ... pelled/amp Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    7mm Rem mag Quickload help?

Is 65,000 a typo? Saami list the 7 Rem mag cartridge max at 61,000 psi (420 MPa)... or did you mean 7 RUM? I didn't see anything for the 139gr LRX in QL. If you take some measurements I can make a bullet profile for it.

    Quickload question?????

This is an old question I see and I bet its already been answered but I'll answer. I think anything that has or uses the windows operating system should run it just fine. Two off the top of my head are the surface notebooks and panasonic toughbooks.

    Shooting a ladder

After a two year hiatus from shooting and reloading its been interesting getting back into it and seeing things I didn’t before. A buddy of mine shared that newest load work-up method involving velocity plateaus. It didn’t go so well in the three calibers I tested. No flat spots identified...

    Change ?

I’ve thought about it... but then end up just +1 the collection. Speaking of sir Fotis, I picked up one of his rifles a few years ago. Haven’t shot it much until recently when I took the magpul stock off it and put on something better. Used up all my reloads and starting the next batch I made...

    Action screws and torque

Sooooo with a few of my rifles that I placed into aluminum chassis, I torqued to 35r/35f and then shot for groups. Increased the front by 5inlbs and shot again. Increased and shoot, etc up to when I saw a satisfactory group and stopped. Retested with that torque and went from there. I think...

    Forstner bits

If you can make a pilot for it so the case is kept square to the neck, I’d still say nope. I make pens as a hobby and part of the process is squaring the material up with the brass tube it is glued to. I used these barrel trimmers that resembled a pilot shaft with a four blade forstner style...

    Is there an explanation?

If you have the shot values, you can determine where the ES occurred. Was the lowest FPS the first shot/ first recording? Clean barrel / fouling shot maybe? Or was one FPS value abnormally high? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    300 blackout

Looks like I settled on H110 17.5gr, 125gr nosler btip, 2240fps, out of a polygonal twist 16” barrel My pistol does 208gr hpbt, 11gr 5744. It borders on subsonic/super so I dropped it to 10.8 gr and was quietly happy. The one on the left is the 62x40 WT Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
