I posted this a few days ago on the QL thread but have not heard back so appologies for also posting here.
I am loading the 140 ELD. 140 RDF and 147 ELD at both 2.890 and 2.915 OCL in my 6.5 Creedmoor. Rifle is a Tikka T3xCTR with very long throat. I would like some QL guidance to determine...
i thought this might be of interest to members who are 6.5Creedmoor shooters.
140 ELD-M 2.950 OCL to jam rifling Tikka T3x CTR
140 Nosler RDF 2.991
147 ELD-M 3.009
I posted this over on Quickload thread and have not heard back yet but was surprised the Tikka has so much...
Hunter,
that is a great load.
Mine is not as accurate but decent. (1 to 1 1/2 depending on rifle).
I settled on 27.0 grains CFE 223. this gave me a bit over 3,000 fps from a polygon Lothar Walther barrel w Wylde chamber 1:8 twist, 20 inch. this is slightly better than Winchester Ranger ammo...
6.5 Creedmoor.
140 Hornady ELD-M, 140 Nosler RDF, 147 Hornady ELD-M.
RL-16
2.890 OCL all bullets. (feeds well in magazine though I can go as far as 2.915). Hornady brass.
Bullet lengths are: 140 ELD, 1.374. 140 RDF, 1.420, 147 ELD-M, 1.440.
The Tikka T3x CTR appears to have a much...
I found this from our reloading forum.

I had read this back in January and thought it was for the RDF, not the LR Accubond.
Does anyone know if Nosler is testing the RDF and Accubond lline?
Can anyone provide a link to the verified G1/G7 BC's of the Nosler RDF line?
I have searched for it on line and cant find one.
Or have all the values been updated on the Nosler site already?
PS, Have you found the hybrid secant/tangent ogive to be more finicky about OCL than, say a Sierra...
Can I ask what your OCL was and jump from rifling as w the RDF?
I am begining to reload the 6.5 CM and have 140 ELD and Nosler RDF. Starting out w RL 16.
What was your charge of RL26? Any difficulty w maintaining OCL compressed load?
thanks!
Namo has the contract for the hybrid brass polymer case. The polymer is press-fit with ribs into the brass case head. Case capacity is reduced slightly. The 6.5 x 40 has about 37 grains of water capacity I think. So about 4 gr8 less than the USA.
The 108 grain will probably be used for rifle and...
I have an unusual request you may or may not be able to help with.
I would like to calculate likely velocity, chamber pressure, and suitable powders for the 264 USA. As you may know this is a developmental military cartridge for possible adoption by US armed forces.
OCL is 2.6 inches...

Can you run the following for me?
IMR4895, Winchester brass, 308 Winchester, 20 inch barrel, 178 grain HORNADY ELD-X, 2.860 OCL.
Not ideal but I've been using up old lots of powder in my Rem 40X. Gone thhrough RL15, Varget, 4064, and VV550 cans and now left w 4 pounds of 4895!
PS, I was...
I have been searching for flame temperatures online and cannot fiind many.
Anyone have a link for a current and complete list?
Id like to know what CFE223 is for instance.
also, on the Excell spreadsheet, "shot rate" is seconds between shots, correct?
Thanks for all the help!
Bob, Im glad to see someone using the Accubond. Looks like one anyway. Let us know how it does.
There are many online calculators for recoil. This is a good one.
