At one point I was all hot and bothered for a .358 WSSM, as it looked like I was going to be working in Indiana with their goofy no rifles unless chambered for a handgun cartridge hunting regulations. My ardor cooled when my then company lost the bid for the job (and I never found a donor I was...
I always thought Remington's problems were related to being owned by people who are only concerned about making money and don't care about guns.... QC, marketing, some horrible design ideas (ETronix anyone?)....
Yeah, I think I missed the boat on a new 390/391. I messed around with a 391 Sporter model at Sportsman's Warehouse that fit me really well, but Beretta's website is horrible. I just want a 3" chambered 30" barreled wood stocked (Xtrawood is fine) 12 and/or 20 guage with a satin or polished blue...
Though I tend to like a little longer barrels, I would be ecstatic with ANY new 6mm, particularly a Winchester. But yeah, a 24" Sporter would be the bee's knees, but a 22" Featherweight wouldn't scare me off. My 788 is a 22" tube.
Those are interesting rifles. When they were first announced, the 7RUM was listed but was quickly removed from the list of chamberings. I was seriously bummed!
Both of the 6.5-20x 30mm VX3s I have are already spoken for on varmint rifles. My Creedmoor is one of the original 26" barreled Hawkeyes, so I don't really want to over-scope it, though if I had the coin I'd love to drop a 3-18x VX6 on it.
Yeah, 1-8 6mm would be awesome. Though I think I'd rather have a Sporter or a Featherweight. For whatever reason, Supergrades tend to be a little porky,
