I saw this same information on Midway's site and seen it stated as such elsewhere.
Recalling I've bought a number of things Midway had listed as "Discontinued", I sent an email to Speer asking them straight out if the 220 grain flat nose .358 bullet was, in fact, discontinued.
It's gotten to...
Give the smaller 35 bore shooter the best bullet in the world for "deer sized" game.....with a little more range: A 185 or 190 grain .358 Partition. BC would be adequate for close/mid range and a SD of .206 and .212 (rounded) respectively.
The 180 grain Speer flat nose is a VERY good deer...
In online searches I am getting differing lengths quote for these two actions as to what maximum O.A.L the box magazines will allow, and will feed properly.
While I RARELY use the magazine for anything other than "emergency back up" rounds, it is good information to have before purchasing...
With a forever tight budget for "toys" I'm looking at an older Howa 1500.
A bit of research shows it to "probably" be a 1993-1994 version. Synthetic stock.
I'm reading a lot about the triggers and that most have replaced the trigger with, what I ASSUME is, a new factory trigger. Cost unknown...
It seems that as I grow older (and older, lol) the more interesting and appealing the majority of the rifles of yesteryear are to me.
I agree with the majority. I doubt the rifle has ever shot better than that and for a general hunting rifle at the majority of hunting ranges even if it shot...
Thanks.
Still, in all the "state of the art" techie material, I agree, wool still ranks right up there.
Good type on the boot dryer use. I dont give that much thought normally.

Surprisingly, while going through the closing Stock and Field Store (formerly Big R) I bumped into a pair of Muck Ankle II boots (closeout priced) about 1 1/2 sizes too big. (About the size I wanted.)
In the past I've used THICK felt/wool pads along with moisture wicking socks and a thinner...
Dang......if only Dad would have had a crystal ball and had bought 50 boxes of these (red box) when Nosler was in Ashland. I suppose $4.50 a box was "a lot" between 1948-1958 but they sure look inexpensive by today's dollars!
Three red Ashland, OR boxes of .257:
1 box of 100 grain "Semi Point...
Did you find your scope, Filmjunkie?
Not sure if it's exactly what you want since you had a K4-C3 but I have a K4-1 Microtrac 4x32mm (I think) sitting here.
Send me a PM if you want photos or whatever.
God Bless
Steve
I only have my own experiences to share, of course, and in no way indicating anyone should follow my example. Each has their own mandated limitations on what brass to use.
That said, regardless of MFG, ANY kind of primer seating issues that appears sends the entire batch off my bench and into...
I see several reviews online on the .224" Varmint Nightmare bullet sold in bulk from Midsouth.
As always, some are good, some are "ok" .some are not so good.
Specifically, other than personal experiences with them good or bad, if someone would tell me the bullet length of the 55 grain Varmint...
Eh.......I'll figure it out
AS for the FMJ.......I guess I didnt give thought to other states having different regs.
In Indiana, it's illegal to shoot ANYTHING living with FMJ bullets. Not even predators or varmints. (but yeah, some Ive heard still do) A target/plinking bullet only.

Im not sure I'm following, Shadetree
This is working out a subsonic load......going down. It's not related to starting at 10 percent low and going up.....I dont think. Correct me if I misunderstand
My point is Hodgon's OWN load data is "outside the guidelines"......4 grains is 66 percent of...
I agree on filling it is safe.
I plan to start high and work DOWN closely watching for wide swings of velocity on the Chrony till I get to my desired velocity but I tell you what......I'm finding so much on the Hodgdon load data pages that goes from highly illogical to flat WRONG I have less...
Hodgdon has a formula for using Trail Boss for reduced loads AND has some listed on their website load data charts.
Trail Boss has a rep of usable reduced loads with still enough powder so one can NOT double charge a round accidently however........there is a problem with all of this.

Excellent gang. SORRY about the late reply. I thought I had checked the box to be emailed when I got a reply....guess not. I didnt have any email but just came back in to see what else was on the table.
I should have clarified by adding my equipment and round too.
I'm shooting a twin to...
