Found a 375 Ruger Guide Gun with 6 rounds down the pipe for a steal of a price.
I’ll take the Ruger and the 338 to Alaska. Of course my 45-70 is going along too. I’ll likely have the Maggie Cerakoted soon too.
Now if the auction gods smile on me I’ll have some Hornady 200 grain SST’s and...
I’ve been slow to respond to this because it hits very close to home.
I almost took the same route at what I thought was a dark time in my life. My heart hurts for you because it’s the ultimate tragedy.
If you ever need an ear feel free to PM me and I’ll give you my number.

As I’ve already posted elsewhere I’m planning on moving to Anchorage around July. I’m wondering what to do about my favorite rifle.
I live in the desert. It’s hot and dry so I’m unaccustomed to this thing called rain. My environment is very good for blued guns.
Now with all that said my...
I prefer a decocker as opposed to lowering the hammer with your thumb or other appendages.
The gun should be pointed in a safe direction before manipulating the decocker so even if it goes off everyone is safe.

Picked up the aforementioned Beretta today and will post a pic in the next week.
I also have to change out the recoil spring and trigger on my other Beretta 9mm. I’m thinking I’ll just carry this one as I can put a red dot optic on it.
The M9A4 has metal parts, trigger, recoil spring guide...
I’m running 180 grain loads in my 40 S&W.
Don’t have a 10mm yet but I’ll probably run heavy for caliber in it when I get to Alaska. Although I’m actually thinking of carrying my S&W Model 58 in bear country.

Got a Beretta M9A4 G FDE coming next week.
I never much cared for Berettas but you can say I’ve become a fan. I’m planning to put a red dot on this one. I’ve really started to like the DA/SA.
I guess I’m just a little behind the times. These DA/SA guns were all the rage thirty years ago. I’ll...
Since many of you have been to Alaska and the Yukon I’m looking for advice on clothing and gear that I should buy here in the lower 48 before I move.
Thinking I’ll move to Anchorage first and then see where I want to live after a couple years of learning the state.
Any help with gear and...
Having lost approximately 85% of my hearing I’m considering these but so far just using Walker electronic earmuffs.
I like having more ear protection and wonder if the in the ear type actually block as much sound. Also, I wear my hearing aids under the muffs and it seems to work very well for...
Some may not agree but I run my revolvers dry. I find it helps to reduce the amount of “gunk” inside the pistola.
I live in a very dusty climate and oil just attracts dirt like a magnet.

Sounds like a great setup.
I’m packing a J Frame 38 NSS and/or a Beretta 92/96. Appendix is the most comfortable and concealable for me. I use the Barami Hip Grip a a Tyler Adapter on the J Frame. Really comfy.

PS: (All in jocularity) The 38 NSS is the 38 Not So Special. Everyone and...
