    85gr Solid Base

I was getting addicted to the 100 gr Solid Base for my 6mm Rem in the 1980's... then Nosler replaced it with the Ballistic Tip. Whoo boy... I started getting Grumpy. Later they improved the Ballistic Tip bullets AND a number of years ago Nosler produced a run of Solid Base bullets again! I got...

    360 Buckhammer season results

Ballistics are about the same as the good ol' 35 Remington. Guy

    Hiking this morning.

Very cool. Dog and I do about 3.5 - 5 miles most mornings. It's good for both of us. :) Guy

    300 H&H Ruger Number One...

I let it slide on by. It's a nice rifle. I have several nice rifles. I've learned to appreciate things without buying them. There's a budget to be considered. I have rifles others may never have. I am grateful for that. Regards, Guy

What will be your cartridge/rifle of choice for this fall? Second?

It's a common thing. I admire the one-gun hunter. Sometimes I'd like to be that fellow. But I'm so doggone curious about other rifles, other cartridges, other scopes... Gah! It's not a rabbit hole, it's a tunnel maze. I would have happily done all of my big game hunting with Dad's 30-06...

    360 Buckhammer season results

Ya, but not today. At this point suffice it to say my velocity results approached Hodgdon's at over 2300 fps, with tight SD single digit SD. Accuracy at 100 yards from the Henry was good. I haven't measured the groups. Looks like just under an inch from the benchrest for three shots. I'll have a...

    360 Buckhammer season results

I've been handloading the 200 gr Hornady RNSP in the 360 Buckhammer recently with good results. Accuracy and velocity were both quite good using, of all things, CFE BLK. If I hadn't seen it on Hodgdon's Online Data Center, I probably wouldn't have thought of using it.

    CO-AX Pess

The Co-Ax is capable of building some very high quality ammo. Part of that is indeed their dies... It's kind of nice to not need a bunch of different shell holders. I haven't used one often, but I always enjoy using it and have built my most accurate ammo ever on one, with the Forster "honed"...

    Lazy or Genius?

Years ago one of our officers built a moving target for our paved 50 yard police range. He used a remote control car and built a lightweight wood frame that would hold a cardboard silhouette a few feet off the ground. He'd run it around and officers would shoot at the silhouette. Fun and...

    300 H&H Ruger Number One...

I've got it. It shoots great. I haven't shot it in a while and haven't taken any new photos of it. Planning on using it for some of my hunting this season. Guy

    300 H&H Ruger Number One...

Ya, it's not going to happen guys. I was temporarily smitten, but am in the phase of life where I'm selling or giving away things more often than I'm buying things. Mama and I have made huge inroads on getting rid of "stuff" this year. I've been selling off firearms too. Locally for the most...

44 Rem Mag Mid Range Loads

I'm still working on an 8 pounder of the old stuff. It's dirty. About one step removed from charcoal or black powder... ;) But it sure shoots good! Guy

    Another Coyote for the .22-250

Congrats on another 'yote! Favorite coyote rifle? Whatever is in my hands at the moment! :) That said, I've had a lot of fun zapping them with the 25-06 using my regular deer loads. 115 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip works well, not all that "explosive" just really deadly. 115 gr Berger VLD is...

44 Rem Mag Mid Range Loads

Ya 8-10 grains of Unique and a 240 - 250 grain bullet is a classic! I've used variations on that for probably 40 years or so. Always happy with the results. Just happened to be kinda long on Titegroup and curious about it. BTW, it also did GREAT in the 45 Colt. Guy

    Copper?

Well, it certainly opened up nicely... But ya, I would expect a 375 H&H shooting a 260 grain copper alloy bullet to exit... Interesting. Guy

44 Rem Mag Mid Range Loads

Got some very nice results with Hodgdon's Titegroup powder. Both loads were accurate. The 6 grain charge was fun to shoot, with little recoil from the 629, and the 9 grain charge let me know that I was shooting a powerful handgun without beating me up.

    300 H&H Ruger Number One...

Gah! I was offered one at what amounts to a reasonable price these days. Looks good. Wood is not outstanding, mostly just straight grain walnut. It appears to be a 1-S, meaning 26" barrel and the Ruger sights. Would go wonderfully with my 375 H&H Ruger Number One... I already have a terrific...
