Ok, a friend and I and possibly my Dad are looking at planning a Wyoming antelope hunt in the future. I know nothing about Wyoming....never been there. Looking for any advice on hunt units at this point that you all might suggest as areas with good numbers of animals. Also any idea on how...
I had a fantastic load with H4350 in my 260 and as it got harder to find I worked up a load using IMR4451 and it is shooting just as well. I think it's a pretty good powder as well. Haven't noticed it being any more or less sensitive to temperature swings and it's much easier to find in my...
Got out today with a good friend to verify a load for my AR15 and then verify some drop data.
Load for my AR is R-P brass, cci 400 primers, 22.9gr AR-COMP and the 73gr eld-m. Velocity avg on the chronograph was 2701fps, ES 14, SD 6, and printed about a half inch group. I'm pretty happy with...
Can someone run a quickload for me for a 5.56 using Hornady 73gr ELD-M, 18" barrel with Alliant 2000-MR and AR-Comp?
Just got my scope all mounted up and ready to start doing some load development. I have Varget, IMR4895, CFE223 and the above mentioned to test out initially.
Thanks,
Tim
I own several of Nathan's brakes and they are awesome! This is my newest one on an AR-15 I just finished building. I honestly think my 22lr has as much recoil as this gun with the brake on. Sights just don't come off target making it so easy to spot your own shots and make fast follow up shots...
I don't, it's just a standard gas block. The buffer spring that came with the tube seems really stiff to me so I think I'm going to just order a reduced power spring and see if that solves the problem. I just thought it was interesting that it cycled heavier bullets with no issues.

Oh and on a side note I have a baby beast muzzle brake on it from Nathan and I think my 22lr has more recoil. Literally sights don't come off target and fast and accurate follow up shots are stupid easy!

Ok so I'm fairly inexperienced with working on this platform. I'm an experienced "user" but we aren't allowed to do anything past basic maintenance on our work guns.
So I built my first personal AR to gain some more understanding. That being said here is a quick rundown on major components...
The only downside is that what I currently have suddenly seems very inadequate! It's been spot on out to just over 1400 yards so far with drop data. It's simple, fast and effective. Just wish I could afford one of my own at the moment!

If you don't mind, may I ask for what purpose this load is for? I'm always curious when I see a very light bullet weight (for caliber) on top of a huge column of powder as to what the rational and purpose is for.

I drew my rifle bull tag for 1st season in the W Beulah unit. I think I'm going to be hunting the wilderness this year and hiking in with a spike camp.
