    Testing continues.....300WM 150/165 grain ?

If you want a screamer and a great bullet consider the 130 ttsx at 3530. This bullet will outperform 165 cup n core at these velocities. I'd have to check my records but I believe the load was 85.0 7828ssc and was right on par w/ql predictions in my 25" tikka. This gun has freebore and a...

    Another reloading question re: trimming

Forgot to add...the Sinclair tools can "advise" you on throat erosion. I suppose I should recheck my 30-378 some day...ouch! At a whopping cost of about $6 ea they are a really good investment in tool inventory...lol!

    Another reloading question re: trimming

Get these and you may never have to trim again. Alot of factory chambers are set. 030" over spec. 2 other advantages are less carbon build up before the bullets entrance to your specific dimension....and....possibly less bullet distortion as it does so...

MR 4000 : anyone used it in the .300 WM ?

I've used it in alot of other guns. Its not a big high energy velocity getter. Its a nice clean burning powder that seems to be almost a twin to imr4831. Sometimes its as slow as re19 but sometimes a bit faster. It works nicely in the 270/3006 sized cases. Its clean burning and dense. I...

    Nosler 125 BT

The 110 hornady vmax has shot really well for me over trailboss in several 308 Cal guns. It might even be a great game bullet at that speed.....the jackets aren't that thin on them.

    Range report 7-13-14 (pics)

I have a 340 wby that just doesn't seem to like anything lighter than 250 grainers. It shoots 250 partitions and hornady spire points lights out. I have a pretty good inventory of 338 bullets on hand. If you want a variety pack of small amounts to test pm me and I'll do an inventory. Pretty...

Dimpling shoulders when sizing once-fired brass

Hornady dies in general size things down more...think of it as between a normal die and small base die. I've got quite a few hornady and know this from experience. Stuff that been through a hornady sizer barely touches the sides of a redding body die. My hornady 308 is the only die that reclaims...

Is It Time for a Quick Load Heading?

Is It Time for a Quick Load Heading?

Just curious if there might be any copyright or intellectual property type violations regarding sharing data frequently? A "shooting software" type heading where asking questions or improving performance of how the program works might be one thing but lots if data sharing could be taboo?

    Neck turning?

Someone mentioned factory match grade ammo. Buddy of mine dropped off 2 boxes of federal GM 308 w/175 sierra for me to sort run out.......yikes! I think we had about 13 below 3 k run out. We had 12 between 3 and 6 k run out. We had 15 6k to 10 k. For fun I corrected 5 of the worse on the true...

    Neck turning?

Speaking as a person who's dabbled in neck turning AND owns a lee collect die and redding body die I can say that for my purposes.....the collect and body are a GREAT and reasonably priced combo to get a good step up in sizing and concentricity control. If you've got "something" that does what...

    Neck turning?

I used to do a fair amount of neck turning before I discovered how wonderful the lee collet die is. There are people that do it that really think its important and others who don't at all. Many seem to believe that if your neck is thick on one side the whole case is and that will detract from...

    From Hornady

Weird thing today...or so I thought. Picked up a pound of re17 at the local gunshop. The lot number was dated 2009. Seems weird in this day and age of shortages it took 5 years to hit the retail shelves. What are others seeing for lot dates on recent purchases?

Litz tests the BC of ABLR's...

Fwiw...I've read reports that bullets fired out of tight twist barrels are stressed more at impact on an animal. Actually some people I think are pretty knowledgable say its pretty significant.

I always wonder about he plastic tip regarding calculators. It weighs almost nothing...should it be deducted from the bullet length? I would think it should...?

Geez drinking and loving the Hornady one shot lube Koolaid..

I'm not sure it "completely" dries. I even hit some w/a hair drier and rolled one around in my finger tips and they seemed shiney. Not sure what it was on them but....I have to say....those that were drier than the ones before went through real ez. Just picked up another can of the stuff but...
