6.5 WSM built on a Winchester action, and a 26" Brux 8 twist barrel (#4 contour). There is about 400 rounds down the barrel now. This shoots the 130 Scrirocco or 140 hunting VLD into nice small groups.

What is the twist in your .264 WM Scott? I know they will work in my 6.5 WSM with an 8 twist. Hope they are not impossible to find by mid year. I need some of the 129 ABLR's for the 6.5X55, and they are not to be found anywhere I have looked.
I use these dies for my competition rifles:

They feel more like a Forster die in weight compared to a Redding die. John shoots high power rifle matches on a national level and seems to do quite well with his products in matches.

Best one I have found under $100. You tell him what chamber/caliber, what cleaning rod you use and the action. He will make one that fits like none other I have used.

This game is all about building the most consistent ammo possible and finding a wind condition where they can shoot 5 shots a quickly as possible. They shoot light bullets with flat bases in the short distance events (100-200 yards). Barrels will have much slower twists than are found in the...
4166 is around the burn rate of R15 and Varget. I got a pound of it and will be doing some testing in about 30 days with a couple of my competition rifles that normally use Varget. Not sure who dreamed up the fugley colors for the cans!!
That is a rifle I had built in 6.5X47 L about 3 years ago. First rounds were shot with Jeff at his LR range. It never worked out for me as a backup for F-class and was over-kill for p-dogs. A friend of Jeff's was looking for a rig he could shoot longer distances with and we agreed on a price...
As a person who views BC as one of the top destinations on my bucket list (stone sheep), I hope all works out well for you. The people who reside in the province and are the care givers of the land should always come first. Just another example of how money and greed corrupts...
Great way to go if you want to do load development at the range, especially if you are playing with seating depths. The design of the seating die gives the best opportunity for the bullet to be seated as straight into the mouth of the case as possible.
Thanks for the info on powders. I recently purchased a can of IMR4166 that will be tried as well. The 4166 is supposed to fall into the Varget/R15 burn rates. Big Game powder hasn't been seen anywhere in these parts for quite a while. I'll get serious about load development once the barrel is...
Luxus uses Shilen air gauged barrels and has Speedy Gonzolas's shop do all their chamberings. I learned quite a bit of info about their barrels while talking to one of the owners during the process of ordering the barrels. Each barrel has the hanger and quarter rib manufactured and installed...
It has a standard throat. I don't plan on going bigger than the 286 NPT. This was put together as a caliber that can be used for moose and deer hunting when I am stalking in the thick stuff. The rifle is a Luxus (single shot) breach action that can handle 60,000 + pressures, I just don't need to...
Really like my Wilson dies in 6BRX as well Guy. I have found the Whiddon dies I use for the other competition rifles seem to do just as well, but the Wilson dies just look and feel better than anything else out there.
Decided I better get some cartridges loaded up to start testing the 9.3X62 barrel that should be here by the end of the week. The other calibers can be played with after I have a good load worked up for this one.
Loaded with 286 grain partition behind 55 grains of R15 and BR2 primers.
