I never got the chance to try any of those powders because i had a good inventory built up of IMR, Hodgdon and Reloder stuff. Kind of glad now i didn't since it's going away. I've had enough trouble over the years when finding a good load with a particular bullet only to see it discontinued i...
I also want to thank everyone on this forum it is no doubt a great forum. I don't get to visit as much as I'd like too but when I do I've always been welcomed and have truly enjoyed the fellowship and knowledge from all you guys here. Lots of experience here along with advice, tips and great...
My daughter also used the 120gr BT in her .260 rem for several years with excellent results on deer. When she ran out they became non existent and couldn't be found anywhere so we had to find another bullet and went with the Sierra 120gr Pro Hunter. Both shot great and performed excellent but...
I'm a big fan of the Hot-Cors and have been using them for years with excellent results on game. My favorite is the 120gr in the 25.06. I had a good load worked up with the 120gr in my daughters .260 but when we ran out i've never been able to find any more but they were really good on deer as...
I've killed quite a few deer here in NC with the 125gr BT from the .308 as well as the 30.06. It is no doubt one tough little bullet and an excellent deer killer.!
Good pic, thanks for sharing. I have a co-worker that shoots that same bullet in his .270 and really likes it. My personal favorite is the 120gr in the 25.06 but i've also used the 150gr in 30.06 and .308 with excellent results as well. The Speer Hot-Cor is no doubt a very tough bullet.
Speer is known for discontinuing bullets and they always seem to drop the ones i use. The .257 120gr Hot-Cor, .257 120gr Deep Curl and the .264 120gr Hot-Cor are three that come to mind. I'm good on the 120gr .257 Hot-Cor because when i found out they were going to drop it i bought enough to...

I tried everything but could not get them to shoot accurately in my rifle and after reading your post i'm glad they wouldn't lol. I had gotten the Hornady's at a steal and figured i'd try them out. I tried several different powders, varied seating depths, even tried a couple different...
I say 25.06 but my opinion is gonna be a little bias because i've been shooting a 25.06 for over 30yrs so needless to say, i love a 25.06. My brother just recently bought a Remington 700 SPS tactical 6.5 Creedmoor and i have to say i was very impressed with the accuracy of his rifle out of the...
My first rifle was a rem 700 adl 30.06 and I hunted with it for about 8yrs and harvested a truck load of deer with. I have a friend who had a sako 25.06 and I started shooting it regularly whenever we would go out and shoot at the range. Needless to say I fell in love with that caliber and...
My daughter has been using the Sierra 120gr Pro Hunter with H4350 for years in her .260 with excellent results in both accuracy and performance on deer here in southeast NC. No doubt that the 120gr BT would give equal results. We've never tried a 100gr bullet in her rifle so i can't comment on...
I just recently ran across 2 boxes of these at an old country store and the guy sold them to me for $10 a box which I couldn't refuse. It's the old Hornady box so I assume they are vintage because I don't see them listed on the Hornady site. Everything I've read about these bullets seems to be...
I used the 150gr Bronze tips in my 30.06 for years with excellent results. They were very accurate and really done a number on deer. I miss those bullets and those days.
I too am a set it and forget it guy and don't do very much turret twisting only when sighting in. I have always ran Leupold scopes on my rifles with only one issue which was with a newer vx3i. This scope just would not track at all when sighting in to the point I thought my handloads were bad so...
