We're working on that Guy.
In the interim, we had a landowner in Ok ( where we've been duck/goose hunting for 7 years ) give us permission to hunt his place for free. It's about 900 acres and only a 105 mile drive from home.
We've seen some very nice deer there.
Had two good bucks walk through...
And now has a place on the wall.
May be the last Mo deer for a bit, we lost our lease
Landowner had no problem with us just decided it would be more productive to turn all the CRP ground back into crop production.
I too have a couple boxes of 308 165 Solid Bases that someone gave to me.
Loaded on top of the same powder charge I run in my 308 that shoot to exactly the same point of impact as the Ballistic Tips.
Have yet to shoot a deer with one of them though.
I had several jacket/core separations with 140 BTs in my 280 in the early days.
One stands out in my mind though.
Decent 8 point whitetail, broadside at about 100 yards.
Held low on the chest in the heart area and let it fly. I saw the deer flip sideways at the impact then
all four feet up in...
I bought a 5/8 countersink bit at Home Depot that I plug into an electric screwdriver.
Zip and it's done.
I've got one of the RCBS tools but this is a WHOLE lot quicker.

Creedmore uses one of these and an electric screwdriver...
Tinkering with the idea of a 6x45 AR as well as a 300 Blackout.
I'd like to have a Sharps in 45-70/90/120 ?
An M1 Garand and an M1A
Flushed up on shotguns/handguns and 22s.
In fact I just had to buy another gun safe to store stuff in.
Seriously .
I just found a box on the back corner of it with six 1 pound bottles of Benchmark in it.
I think I bought them back in October but bow season was in full swing then and I had deer on the brain .
That reminds me, I bought a lottery ticket last night. Better go check it.
No.
Either Red Dirt country from local Texas artists, classic rock, or Metallica depending on my mood.
All Pandora stations on my IPad.
Who has room for a cup of coffee on a reloading bench ?
Mine ( have two currently ) have gotten so cluttered I'm going to build a third one to put all the...
Roger that. We're planning on taking a Go Pro camera and videoing the whole thing.
After patterning some buckshot out of my Benelli last weekend I may take an AR 15 instead, not sure
My wife isn't real thrilled either.
I was a Huey helo crew chief in the Army in my younger days and have spent...
I scrub 'em clean about once a year but it isn't during hunting season.
Once I verify cold bore zero they go back in the safe until hunting season is over.
I'll dry patch them if they get wet but that's it.
I've got one rifle at the house that has about 10k rounds thru it and it's never been...
Have recently acquired permission from a landowner in Ok to hunt his 3k acre ranch.
Turns out he makes the majority of his living flying a helicopter doing controlled burns and aerial spraying.
He also has numerous landowners paying him to fly their property and eliminate the hogs.
Here in the...
Found those online yesterday.
Considering that or one from Blackhole Weaponry.
Stoner is over $100.00 less money.
You get a chance to shoot it post up some pics of the groups please ?
Thanks,
Howard
SX3 is a gas operated gun.
The Franchi is inertia operated IE Benelli
My Benelli SBE would reliably eject 7/8 oz lead loads but not eject 1 1/8 oz three inch steel loads.
Had to replace the recoil spring with an SRM Sure Cycle that cost about $150.00
You need to consider a used Beretta 390 or...
