Those are beautiful Guy. I have been loading 50 Grains with mine, and usually the 350's from Montana Bullet works. My last batch using the Rem 405 gr, Remington Bullets, was using IMR-4895 from a can. I have three cans of 3031, just like yours in my storage room.
The very same cautions, should be used on Cell Phones, also. My wife has an eagle eye when watching for this stuff, all they need to do is have you open the window and they are in. Watch your text messages for anything that wants you to open their site, in order to solve a financial problem or...
The brand of case you use "can make a difference" , primers also but I have not experienced the significant difference that I do with changing cases. And also remember that all rifles are not made the same so you may not see drastic changes caused by changing components
“cloverleaf wrote: Heck.... my kids wouldn’t want a Mauser, or any other wood/blued rifle I handed them. They care NOTHING about nice wood, or cut checkering, or deep blueing, or open sights, or any other nonsense nostalgia so many attach to rifles..”.
Function is the most important aspect of...
I have used the Partition for decades on over 100 animals, it's a great bullet and will do its job. Your job will be to put it into the right place, end of story.
I am old and sometimes very slow, how is it that a 170 grain PT, is going to expand much faster than a 180? They are made the same, only one weighs slightly more, Do you really think 10 grains will make a significant difference? When I was hunting deer with the 06 I used 150's for deer,.
My Nosler Reloading Guide #4 has a section covering the .308 Norma, as does my older Hodgons Manual. I am sure some of the newer ones do also. Hodgons online "Reloading Data Center" has information, as well as an internet search provides data from other powder companies, and articles and...
My longest kill shot was 540 yards, I was prone, bedded in, and ready when they came out of the timber. That shot was most likely about 8 or 9 years ago. My 2020 distances on two one shot elk kills were, 266 and 410. I consider 300 yards point blank. In the majority of the country I hunt in...
As I am not a match shooter, but more of a hunter and recreational shooter, I will be very interested to see if there is any real effect upon accuracy with these offset flashholes. I have a nice little Remington Tactical in .308 Caliber. The rifle shoots holes in pennies at 100 yards, I have...
Sometimes they do updates and website changes during the holidays. But announce it first. I was on earlier in the week and couldn't get it to load up at all. Give them a call tomorrow, that may help.
I have used 4064, 4895, 3031 and have read the Varget and RL-15 are also great powders. I load nothing but the 250's in mine as I believe that the cartridge was designed for the heavier bullet. One can shoot 200 grain bullets in 06, the 35, does better with the heavier bullets.
A very nice moderately powered cartridge, with light recoil. More than adequate for deer and wanting on elk, especially on elk moving away, at an angle. It will most likely kill anything on the planet, while it is standing still and offering a perfect shot as Bell proved many, many years ago.
I think a lot about shot placement. With well over 100 big game animals in my pile I believe that I have learned a little. One of the first things I learned is that every shot is 'NOT THE PERFECT SHOT", we would hope that would be the case, but in reality it is not. A little gust of wind, an...
