    Cretan style!

Fotis, I remember eating those when we were in Crete for Anna's baptism. How many platters did we go through? George

    Nosler with threaded barrel

TDMVA, you are welcome. For your information, TROS makes thread adapters and will make a custom combination for you if they do not stock it. This way you can use the can on barrels threaded differently. George

    Nosler with threaded barrel

To the OP's question, even if Nosler won't offer a threaded, shorter- barrel rifle, any rifled barrel can be shortened, crowned, and threaded after the fact. TDMVA, The Pac-Nor barrel contour chart above shows overall barrel length (G) at 28" (contours 2 through 6), but the barrel OD at "F"...

    Only horns?

You're welcome. Maybe it's just a result of evolutionary factors, like why we have few horned species in North America (Mountain Goats, and the four sheep species; pronghorn shed their horns every year). George

    Silencer on hunting rifles?

They are legal in far more places (for possession and hunting) than not: As for cost, you can spend as little as $250 or as much as $10000 (or more) for a rifle. You can spend as little as $50 or as much as $3000 (or more) for a scope. The suppressor will last a lifetime if not used on a...

    Silencer on hunting rifles?

Cut $1000 from the wedding expenses (most of them are just extravagances) and buy your can. Simple. George

    Only horns?

No indigenous species have antlers (the Barbary Red Deer is classified as extinct). There are introduced species like fallow deer in South Africa (and perhaps elsewhere) however. George

    Silencer on hunting rifles?

"Worth it?" To me, yes! To save my (already damaged) hearing, reducing report and, to a degree, reducing muzzle flip. I use one on my .308 Win. and .300 Blackouts. Even with supersonic ammunition, it reduces the report at the muzzle. It also seems to befuddle the animals as to the direction...

    Switching to 8-40 screws

Did he index off the bore somehow? If not, the threads may have followed the outside of the barrel and may be off the axis of the bore. Your bullets might impact the muzzle device or suppressor on the way out. George

    Switching to 8-40 screws

Unless he expects to use a hand die to thread the muzzle end (which is just crazy) , he has to remove the barrel to ensure that the muzzle is threaded concentric to the bore (i.e., he has to index on the bore when he puts it in the lathe). Ask him to put index marks on the receiver and barrel...

    Barbary Sheep ?

Use the .264 Win. Mag. with controlled-expansion bullets. I shot a 32"x30" ram a long time ago with my .30-06 and 165gr. Sierra BTSPs. They are wary, so shots can be long. They're also big, tough animals and you don't want one running over a ridge after you punch a hole in him. George

    Gun stores in Vegas???

The local gun stores here sell mostly ARs, AKs, and handguns. They do not cater to the bolt-action crowd. WWG is on a back street and they have a few nice guns in a side room, but they are overpriced by a LOT on almost everything. BassPro is south of The Stip and just off I-15 at Blue...

    Vampire Deer?

Musk deer, muntjac, and Chinese water deer have visible canines. Elk, red deer, and sika deer have the vestiges of canines, often referred to as 'ivories'. George
