you guys all aim left of where you want the impact
and wind is right to left :?
i would aim with the bottom of the first circle on my bdc reticle
that is zero at 340 yard. right on the center of the ribcage.
wind will bring the 200 accubond @ 3050 fps right behind the shoulder.
prone on...
thanks for your time elkman
i wrote this just because i was wondering if .030" in coal could
turn a 1" load into a 2.5". (and it's fun to try and turn a 1" load into 1/2")
and i gave the example that it was a lot more consistent and easy with the ttsx.
for the penetration of the 168 ttsx,( or...
so i went back to the range to try and improve this load but it was a lot worst.
the first 2 targets are the ones from the other day.
i shot a 0.658 group with 94 gr.retumbo and a coal of 3.600
i also tried a coal of 3.650 as this shot the best with the TTSX 168.
that group was worst at 1.50"
so...
http://www.nikonhunting.com/spoton/
stumble on this while surfing.
might interrest BDC users.
will try it soon with my new 4-16x42 sf / BDC
especially the '' expend bdc circle '' function
and the ''field reference ballistic chart'' that you can access in '' generate ballistic report''

i had a bit of a problem when i bedded and free floated my rem. 700 in 300 rum. i rebuilt a pressure point using layers of aluminum tape used to seal ducts. now it groups .5 to .75 with barnes ttsx 168 gr. and accubond 200 grain. load dev. was quick and easy finding both loads within 20 rounds...
Well it Will take at least 3 weeks before i can continue
on this load dev. Broke my trigger hand in a bad fall while
snowboarding yesterday.
Getting too old for this sport i guess LOL
Thanks guys
so i'll start with 94 gr. And roll 5 each starting at 3.600"
in 0.010" increment to 3.640" and see how it turns out.
Pop i may try rl25 as Still have a third of a pound
but m'y barrel is hard to clean with this powder
compared to factory Stuff . Have you noticed
something Like that?
i started reloading 1 year ago for my 300 ultra
i started with 168 gr barnes ttsx and got 3150 fps and consistent
.500" accuracy.
this week i received 200 accubonds and try them with retumbo
94 gr. i got 3047 fps average and a .650" 3 shot group.
95 gr. i got 3086 fps ave. and a 1.25" group (2...
This pic have been posted on a forum for some time
and nobody seems able to answer him so i thought
i'd post it here for him. I'm pretty sure some of you
Will know what can cause this.
Caliber is 300 wsm
he used once fired brass ( he bought them so are they really
only fired once?)...
thanks everyone for your answers and/or suggestions
i think i,ll try RL-25 first as i still have a can.
i'll start at 85 gr. and work up slowly to 92 gr.
i guess all i have to do is check for hard bolt lift, flattened primers, and ejector marks?
if the velocity or accuracy i get is not what i...
hi!
i ordered 200 grains accubond to load in my 300rum.
i'm looking for load info with rl-25.
i searched this site and found quickload info that put 87.2 gr. at 64000 psi
so i guess 88 gr. would be max.
in sierras 5th edition manual. with their 200 gr. bullets the max is 92. gr.
is this due to...
just before christmas i was shopping for a new scope to replace the 3-9x40 burris fullfield on my 300 ultra
scanning e bay for a leupold 4.5-14x40 LR i found a nikon monarch
4-16x42 SF with bdc. the price being 350 instead of 800 for the leupy
i search this forum for review and saw that a few...
thanks mike
i will not worry about it then, as it shoot very well.
my gunsmith warned me before doing the job that not all remmy's liked
to be free floated.
can you tell me if it's easy to pressure bed the fore end. if it's something i can do myself it might be better than the tape i used...
hi everyone!
i had a bedding job done on my remington 700.
it was done by a reputed custom gun maker. i also had the barrel free floated. but when i tried it, it would spread the bullet almost 4" wide
the vertical grouping was ok at around 1" but the horizontal group
was a disaster. it could...
