Hard to believe that time of year is here already! Filled out my 2016 Montana Deer application and Deer permit and sent it off in the mail today. If I'm luck enough to get drawn I'm getting a wolf tag too later this summer when they go on sale. -

End of seasons... What now?
I've still got a deer tag to fill, our archery season doesn't end till Feb 7th and we have a muzzleloader season coming up too. I'll be coyote hunting after that. Also starting to look into a spring bear hunt. -

Hog Hunting with a 6mm/243 Caliber.
Shoot em right behind the shoulder and they won't go far! I've taken a few with just a round ball and patch out of my TC Renegade and it dropped em in their tracks :grin: -

Congrats on the deer! We had the same weather over in Meigs county where we hunt, I got skunked during gun season but I did put a doe in the freezer bow hunting, I've still got the 28rh & 29th for gun and muzzleloader to fill another tag. -

I looked at a Savage model 16 Hunter in 243 Win today and wondered if the extra money for the model 16 weather warrior with the accustock was worth it or not? That was the only difference between the two models and the model 16 Hunter looks like the barrel might be free floated from what I could... -

.280 AI is awesome!!
Congrats on the deer! Hopefully your ribs are well on the mend by now. I've toyed with the idea of upgrading my Encore from standard 280 Rem and having MGM making a 280 AI barrel. -

New Wolf Load!!!
That's good shootin! I'd prefer a 25-06 or better for a wolf. I've got a load for my 280 with a 140 gr BT if I ever get the chance to go after one. -

Remington 11-87 accuracy with a Hastings slug barrel
I've got a Mossberg trophy slugs yet I got 15 years ago and it shoots lights out with 2 3/4 Remington copper sabots! It drops deer where they stand. -
