Hey Scotty that's the same tent I use.
And I always have a tent because the weather changes real quick in the high dessert
And Guy I've always worried more about the two legged critters wondering around then the animals.
And worried even more leaving my vehicle at the trailhead, I've come back...
Lilja barrel in stock
.257-10 3-groove SS #3 contour $335
From Lilja web site:
Q. What are the differences between 3 Groove and 6 Groove Barrels?
A. Almost all of the caliber and twist combinations in the rifle barrels we make are available with 6 lands and grooves. A few years ago we started...
I'm running a #3 contour lilja barrel on my 6.5 Creedmoor and I think it about perfect for a walking around rifle.
It's a little bit bigger then the Winchester Featherweight contour it replaced but not by much.
Call any of the barrel manufactures you are thinking of using and tell what you have...
"The plaintiffs accuse lawmakers of approving the message of necessity without knowing its contents and passing the law without reading it."
Now where have I heard that before?
What SJB358 said.
pull the rifle apart and make sure all the wood is sealed, under the recoil pad also.
I prefer wood stocks and seal the stocks with Birchwood/casey truoil and never had a problem with moisture and wood.
Have you tried bottle neck cases yet?
Does the media fall out better then walnut or corn cob?
Should be a be plus it won't get stuck in the flash hole.
In Lenexa KS with family and new to the area.
Is there much of a difference between Living in Kansas or Missouri in gun laws, hunting, areas to camp and go 4x4?
I'll be working in the Kansas city area so it's either east Kansas or west Missouri.
Thanks
Scotty
I thought your sig would be like this.....
"Actually, there are only two classes of people posting here: Whelen owners and those who wish they had one. PATENT PENDING "
All rifles are different so you wont know until you try, It didn't work well for me with my 270WSM.
My accuracy loads ended up using H4831Sc/130NAB and H1000/150Speer hot core
I know a few 3 gun shooters that load the 223 and 308 match ammo on a progressive press and tumble loaded ammo to get the lube off before they shoot, 10 shots into under an inch@100 yards and chrono data tells me it does no harm.
But they tumble enough to get the lube off, only about 30 minutes...
One more company threatens to leave, They need to go one step further and refuse to sell to any states that have these laws.

I highly recommend a selectable locker, one you can turn on and off from the cab. There are situations where you don't want the rear locked like down hills on snow/ice/slick mud. And non-selectable lockers like to engage/disengage driving around town when you don't need them.
I personally...
With my limited experience with the NAB it likes to be seated deep, My .270WSM likes .100" off the lands and my buddies 300WSM likes them .075" off the lands.
From What I read on this forum others are also seating them deep for best accuracy.
