Troy, if you're willing to spend money on modifications, might I suggest this. As others have said, retire your 250 and hold it from time to time remembering hunts, people, etc, that mattered to you.
For a working rifle, get something like a Ruger American, Savage Axis, or a used rifle in...
I've had a Garmin since November and have used it on numerous occasions with a variety of calibers. Thus far, I'm EXTREMELY pleased and impressed with it. It is so much more convenient and provides the data most shooters want/need.
As noted, it isn't cheap, but for me the performance and size...
I let my membership expire about a year and a half ago. Since then they have sent numerous mailings asking me to rejoin and/or send money. I got tired of it and wrote on the return form in Sharpie telling them they won't see another penny as long as Wayne was president and to take me off their...
Shooters World Precision Rifle is very close to the same burn rate as Varget. It has worked well for me in 308 and 6.5 Creedmoor. The Shooters World powders are usually cheaper than other brands, too.

Well, I placed third in the match, out of 18 total competitors. The eggs were glued to golf tees which were stuck in a board. You had 5 minutes to hit 5 eggs with a maximum of 10 shots. It case of a tie, the shooter's time would be the tie breaker.
I hit 4 eggs with 4 shots, hit the tee under...
I am attending a fun match tomorrow, an egg shoot. You have 5 eggs at 250 yds, 10 rounds of ammo, and 10 minutes. Shoot from a bench and use bags, bipod, whatever.
Anyway, after work I took the rifle I'm using, Tikka T3x Tactical 6.5 CM, to the range to verify zero. I fired 3 rounds , ran the...
I agree with posters about the apparent lack of concern and production from Nosler. I'm sure they have heard similar things from other sources but this is NOSLER Forums so if anyone is listening at the factory why doesn't someone address these issues? If this has been done I missed it and will...
TD284, in a word: FANTASTIC ! Super easy to use, gives all the info you need, and takes up virtually no space.
Get one when/if you can. I think you'll be very happy with it.

After lunch yesterday I went to the range to try out some loads and my Garmin chrono. Rifles used were my Tikka T3x Tactical 6.5CM and a T3 Lite 30-06. The Tactical is topped with a Nightforce 8-32 and the 06 has a Bushnell 3-9x Trophy.
I developed a Creedmoor load using 147 ELD-Ms and StaBall...
I took my Garmin to the range this afternoon for its first trial. I give it two thumbs up only because that's all I have but I would give it more if I could.
Extremely simple to set up and operate, it gives all the data most of us need and in a unit that takes up a minute bit of space on a...
Yeah, Dan, we had a great year. On our small farm (38 acres) we're in the middle of several bedding areas and have grain fields in close proximity. We have some areas of deer habitat on our land as well but mainly we have deer passing through. Regardless, we took 5 does and a buck during...
I ordered one thru Scheels and it is scheduled for delivery tomorrow.
Two weeks ago I shot next to a guy at our local range who had one. I asked the same questions and he said it was his first time using his own, but he had shot several times previously using someone else's and was extremely...

This past weekend was the opener for Missouri's rifle season. Saturday morning, I shot a doe (no pics) using my Browning BLR in 358 Win using 200 Hornady SP handloads. Shot was about 80 yards and she dropped in her tracks. This was first animal I ever got with a lever action.
Sunday...
I was at the Scheels store in Overland Park, Kansas, yesterday and they had Hornady 250 Savage ammo. I think it was $44.95/box but don't hold me to that, I'm old and looked at a lot of stuff.
Anyway, if anyone needs some, or knows someone who is, you might check with a Scheels near you or...
I've been seeing the same stuff you mentioned at the LGS's and Walmart in my town. I might add that Walmart had 45-70 ammo for $49.99. They also had (for a few days) a single box of 360 Buckhammer for $26.95.
