Great story and congratulations! I’ve always had a soft spot for the old sierra gamekings. It’s a fine whitetail bullet.

That is a beautiful buck man! Congratulations. I have a cousin who is a mighty big fan of those little 85 gr sierra’s.

Guy, I used the candle method for quite a while and it works great. Also tried it the same way but with a torch, burnt my finger a lot that way [emoji23]. I would still be doing it with the candle if a friend had not gave me a deal on the induction annealer that I could not pass up. I believe he...
I think ShadeTree is right, I figure annealing will most likely solve this issue. You can do a cheap test to see. Just use the candle method for annealing brass, and try a few out afterwards. Hopefully that will fix the issue.

I believe the browning hi power is still the best feeling double stack 9mm ever made. That’s a beautiful pistol.

I have two muzzle breaks I’ve used on my target rifles. One is an area 419 hellfire the other is the new Eric cortina tuner break. These are both self timing breaks. Both work awesome and easily allow you to spot long range hits on the target. Problem is I despise muzzle breaks lol. Pretty sure...
I can’t remember off hand but it was pretty dang tight. I just put it as tight as I could get them with a screwdriver and it shot fantastic. The one I’m referring to had the AI magazine setup. So my torque wrench would not fit down to the screw and I did not have an extension. I wanna say it was...
Man I’ve always been intrigued by the 325 wsm. Out of all the wsm line up I thought it was the most needed out of all of them. That’s a great looking and shooting rifle there buddy. That would take anything on this continent and not bat an eye. You should carry it this season I’d really like to...
I have helped my brother loading his sons 6.5 Grendel with starline brass. From what I could tell it’s quality stuff. Be great if you guys started making some 9.3x62, 416 Remington, and 416 Taylor [emoji16][emoji16][emoji16]

Awesome hunt for both of you! Nothing better that hunting time with family. I too have had to give the finishing shot before. Sometimes even with what seems like a perfect shot they still need a finisher. I hate it when it comes to that, but it’s part of hunting. If you kill enough of them, then...
I have to use a headspace gauge. With my 416 rem I did not have a gauge, so I neck sized until the brass got to where it was hard to chamber. Then I backed the FL die off about 1.5 turns. Then slightly tightened the sizing die down little bit at a time until the bolt would close with minimal...
Yes it does. I was setting sights with a couple buddies last weekend, and they had one rifle each to set. Then here I am dragging around five rifles to check zeroes because I’m planning on using these five this deer season. Sometimes I envy the people who do all their hunting with just one...
Yes I forgot CFE 223. I played with it a tad with 250 AB, well I only did a velocity ladder with it. At that time I was trying to get 2600 - 2650 fps. I didn’t quite make it with RL15 or CFE 223, but I didn’t have any pressure signs whatsoever. I should of bumped them up a little more and see...
