Well, good news is a have a couple of lbs each of the TAC and H4895, bad news is both barrels are way shorter than 24".
We'll have to see where I can get, once I receive the bullets from SPS. I don't really care about velocity as much as accuracy, because I won't use them past 300yds, if my...
Found these locally, picked up a box. I have read about issues with the pistol ammo, but nothing on the rifle ammo. I have also read the posts about the company sending a million rounds to Ukraine.
I am hesitant to try these in my AR, since they are listed as being 200fps faster than the Nosler...
I also ordered 4 boxes of the blems for future loading.
Pigs and deer are the intended target in a 16" AR and a Browning X-Bolt with a 8 twist that I want to have converted to a 223 Ackley.
Thanks everyone, the bullet looks like it punches way above it's pay grade.
Well, at the bottom of that thread was several pictures of recovered bullets. Looks like an excellent candidate for the 223 Ackley or a future 22 ARC.
Thanks @Guy Miner
Anyone tried these on game? I know they are designed/marketed for self/home defense, but I would think they would be great on game, whitetail, varmints and pigs at reasonable distances. More interested in the latter two, but here in Texas with our smaller whitetails, I think they would perform...
I have 2, both ARs. One has a Tract Turion 3 - 9 and another has the Tract Toric UHD 3 - 15, everyone prefers the 3 - 9 for FOV, eye relief and how quickly it gets on target. Unfortunately, the Turion is no longer available, sad, because I would buy a 1/2 dozen of them.
Exactly my thoughts. I ran a pretty hot load thru the 260, no issues, switched the barrel to a 6 Creedmoor and pierced primers, craters and even blown primers. Load was a factory Federal blue box, velocity was all over the place. Started getting wonky cycling issues. Reached out to Slash about...
I didn't have issues with certain bullets either, but when the threshold was reached, it became a problem.
Measure the pin, it will probably save you a lot of heartache and components.
Measure your firing pin diameter, bet it is .075"
If you don't have a small HP diameter firing pin, you will solve some of the problems with pierced primers in the large frame AR by using one.
I work with several thousand people, a lot of shooters, hunters and even collectors. I have bought more than one rife, pistol or shotgun that was either unreliable(pistol) shot erratically or failed to cycle(shotgun) or hated everything it was fed and accuracy sucked(rifle). Some required a...
