Does anyone else wish Nosler still made a 45-70 partition. I would love them to reintroduce a bullet in the 350-380 grain weight. I'm shocked with all the marlins being sold they would discontinue the 45-70 bullet. just my 2 cents

its officially mine- got 4 1/2 boxes of federal 300 hp a box of Remington 300 gn HP and 3/4 of a box of 405 grn remingtons. theres been several deer without a scope even at close range in brush- I never would have seen an antler that forks- and close range in brush no time for binoculars. but to each there own, plus the vision in my right eye isn't perfect.

I placed classifieds on several forums looking for a lowpowered 20mm scope. I have been offered a redfield 1-4x20mm for $110 or a Gander mtn 4x 20mm scope for $65. I'm just wondering if I'd be better buying a new 1-3 weaver for $160ish or a vx1 1-4 for $199

well its a keeper, Shot it yesterday two different handloads that shoot great in my contender 370 cast gc bullet w/ 5744 and 405 rem cl w/ re7. both shot to point of aim at 50 yards. eight shots in about a 3inch group not bad for a gun I had never fired before and with open sites. to top it off...

I like the looks of the 1-4 type 20mm on guide guns, I was thinking weaver 1-3x, nikon 1-4, or maybe looking for a used leupold. any other suggestions what do you guys think would be good.

all my elk shots have been less than 50 yards but I would go 338 or 358 caliber. I use a whelen and love the knockdown power.

so 400 with a couple boxes of ammo is a good price. especially since I already reload for it since I have a contender carbine and a 1884 trapdoor cadet model in 45-70
