The intent of my use is for play and elk and maybe bear over bait. Just a firm hunting load would be all I need.
Not trying to knock down a T-Rex. Ha
Thanks again for all the responses.
What a bummer, received email that the order is cancelled. In processing, inventory went to zero. Oh well....
I was considering the single shot 45-70 before and almost purchased it instead, so I checked and it was still there. I kicked it around for a few minutes and ordered the Henry Single...
I step on the 60 year line soon. Very fortunate that I'm healthy ... just broken. Going on my 3rd back surgery this spring. I'll be back up and running in no time again.
Seems like just the other day I was walking in the Northern Minnesota woods chasing snowshoe hares and grouse at 10 years...
Running Quickload for a 45-70 .. at what pressure would I set it for in a modern lever gun. SAMMI is what 28K? To get published velocities I bring it up to 55K and 60K.

I'm excited to try something...

Enjoy

I have 3 different bullets for my 338F. One of them is the 200gn Speer, 200gn BT and 210gn PT. In my last 338F the Speer grouped the best. I now have Sav 16. Need to start over again. I'm hoping the PT will group.
The Kimber by far is a better looking firearm. I have that 16 in a Hogue...
At sunset the other evening I looked to my son and said -"perfect time to check some scopes".
I grabbed rifle with a Zeiss V6, one with a V4, one with a Z5 Swaro and another with a Vortex Viper HSLR.
The sun was setting behind the hill side and washed out everything in the field underneath it...
