Thanks to all! I will post some pics when I get it all lashed
togeather! Should match up to my 150th Anniversary real nicely? Here is that stock for comparison:
Should be easy to pick the right gun to take, either taking the "red pad" or the "black pad". LoL.
6mm; No probably won't...
The first year Winchester came back out with the old control feed ( pre 64) bolts, 1989 I saw one at a show
and snagged it, SS in 30/06.
They referred to my model as the ATR with black composite stock. I used it for nearly 30 years all over
North America and it performed flawlessly.
Recently I...
We are up to # 10 and still trying to get a dozen! With any
luck we should make it by ice out, April 25/ May 1st. They have had very prime fur this winter. But we definitely have the herd thinned out! Couple friends that get fur from us.
Well they just keep on coming! With the help of a couple
of eagles, we did find the run off from last post!
Then shot a double week before about an hour apart.
Male that came back to female. So that was 8, then last Sat we got a last year's pup, #9. And late yesterday right at dark another...
Actually I did get a clip mixed up with "deer loads"
129gr. Shot a coyote few days ago......... Straight thru. Ran
Off and looks like gut shot blood........ Anyway same old story, wrong bullet for the job.....my own fault.
E
OneShot.
It's not really bashing to have enough b+lls to bring it up.
I think most of us have been very loyal to Nosler for decades. I certainly was. And this subject has nothing to do weather Nosler makes good bullets or not. They DO.
I am sure many folks on here feel the same way we do,
But...
Shade Tree,
Your comments are very accurate description of how most folks with common sense would look at how Nosler is
actually "shooting themselves in the foot" with this ridiculous marketing technique that they can get folks
To believe a Nosler Ballistic Tip is worth double what the
Compition...
Quite a variance in them for sure, not sure what that's all about????
Not sure what Harvard MBA, explained to them to package their product in a fancy box but only put half
as many in the box????
But can tell you this much............. They have never sold me a box of 50, and never will.
I shot...
Nice find. Baby brother to the 35 Whelen with 10x better bullet selection. Great caliber for Moose or Elk, and though I know your a Magnum guy, There is not a Grizzly
Up there, that can stand being hit with that 225gr Partition
If you put it where it counts! Congrats on your new rifle.
The new...
Well the 90gr Varmagetton bullet is now at 5 , all instantly
killed, even though a couple were not hit perfectly. So it's certainly looks like we have a great load for big Maine Coyotes. We had shot 4 earlier in Jan with our 25/06 so with a total of nine , and about 3 weeks left of good ice,
we...
Well the 6mm/6.5's are in the cabinet as well but for Deer out to 500yds. I am staying with the 25/06 with Speer 120gr bullets, to remain at the top of my list.
Here the alignment with 120 Speers/ 60grs RL25.@ 200yds
Just pulled mine out of the Boyds" all in one" laminate, dropped it back into it's factory composite. Removed the
4x18 FFP tactical I use for winter coyote. Replaced it with
A Ziess Conquest with Z600 reticle. Weighes 7lbs 11oz.
It's ready for deer season!
Nice! My Sako Finnlite will hold 5 of the 150gr ABLR in 2" at 300yds. I bet it would shoot these new 165gr just fine.
They must have a crazy high BC ????
Scotty,
You are cracking me up! Like you need another project....
LoL. Your wife must be a saint??? Ah honey but I really really need this gun to shoot a cow elk if it's between 550 and 575 yds. If it's over 625 I will just use one of my other
Custom Magnums in a unique "improved" caliber only...
It is Scotty, get a box and try em in the Sweede! I think you will be pleasently surprised. It is a full step up the ladder from my .243W at 300yds. You can hear it off the side of the coyotes. It is noticable in the report that comes back it is hitting with more authority! It is still NOT quite...
