Here is how I set up my seating die.
I run a sized and trimmed case to the top of the stroke. Back the seater plug out all the way. Then I thread the die on to the press. As I screw the die in I pay attention to the effort required to thread in the die (not much effort). When the crimping...
so I took my new 45 colts out and shot them. What a great time that was.
I tried some shooting while looking down the sights (not bad) and then some shooting from the hip using the weak hand to cock the pistol
Anyway my 7.5" bbl Uberti pierced a few primers. I looked at...
Congratulations,
I don't have any experience with the quarter bores but I think there are as many 25-06 nuts as 280 nuts on this forum so you should get plenty of load data.
I think you will like your rifle. I have a 30-06 and a 280 both are limited aniversary editions and they shoot great. I...
Clean barrels, fouled barrels, too far from the lands and some times primers.
Oh... from time to time loose scope mounts and bag trigger pulls.
 :P
Welcome to the forum.
Nice pictures and gun collection.
It's nice to see that you have some American guns in your collection. We Americans have a few Italian guns in our collections.
Thanks Pop.
I guess I could call Uberti and ask but, would these be considered strong action because they are recent production?
I'm sure Uberti will tell me not to use hand loads just like any other manufacturer.
The load data I have seen so far for revolvers is for black powder colts and replicas.
These are replicas but are they "strong action" ?
There is diferent data for strong action revolvers like the Ruger blackhawk and the Thompson contender. I have used the "strong action" loads in my Henry Big...
I traded my 270 rem 700 adl, along with a little cash, for these. The long one is a Uberti 1873 cattleman and the shorty is a Cimarron Thunderer.
I like em
Do any of you guys have any 45 colt loads?
Sounds like you have a tight chamber.
Alot of times the die needs to get turned in after it contacts the shell holder to get all ot the "slop" out of the press. They call it ...allowing the press to cam over.
