so I took my new 45 colts out and shot them. What a great time that was.
I tried some shooting while looking down the sights (not bad) and then some shooting from the hip using the weak hand to cock the pistol

Anyway my 7.5" bbl Uberti pierced a few primers. I looked at the rounds from the other pistol and they looked great.
I looked at the firing pin and found it to be sharp and out of round. Kind of looked like a chisel.
Last night I made a drift (0.080") and this morning I removed the firing pin and turned a new one.
The next step will be hardening the pin, installing it and test firing.
Work has been slow here but I have been having alot of fun in the shop.
Here is a picture of the pins.

AAARRRGGGGHHHH!!!
I don't have any large pistol primers and can't get any for 5 more days.

Well, I picked up some primers yesterday and laaded some 250gr jacketed bullets with 16.5 grs of IMR 4227 in RP cases and CCI large pistol primers.
Took a cartrige out to my shop and fired a round into a stack of 4x10 fir.
The round penetrated about two inches into the wood.
The primer looks great.
Here are some pics. The fired round and the pin reinstalled into the hammer.
