Yep, mark with tape and number the cylinder and see, that will tell you for sure.
Man I hope my Redhawk is going to shoot. I guess I can't expect to be able to shoot it like I did twenty five years ago.Wish I had a Ransom Rest.
I just finished loading some rounds with 21.3 grain of 296 and the...
I would love to have a custom rifle in .270WSM. Make no mistake the .270 Weatherby is bad ass. I chronoed the factory loaded 130 grain at 3600fps.
Hard to believe, but I might just buy a case of that ammo.It shoots MOA.
I know now my eyes are really finished.I still love shooting handguns and rifles with peep sights.I am think about getting Lasik surgery.Just wondering if anyone here has done it and seen a difference in shooting. I hate to give up shooting some of the old rifles and handguns I love, but glasses...
If I were going to buy another rifle it would be the .270WSM .It is a sexy cartridge.I own two perfectly great .270 win and a Weatherby Fibermark fluted stainless .270 Weatherby Mag so I guess I really can't justify owning one.
Just wondering how many of you use LPM primers for loads of W296 and H110. I believe I use to use Winchester LP primers.I know that is all I ever used with 2400 in .41 and .44 mag.
I have noticed that Wal Mart is getting more ammo on the shelves that "stays". I think we will see an improvement in components over the next six months provided that B.O. and congress don't decided to do anything foolish.
If they do, you better have some primers on hand, because you won't see...
I was told in a phone conversation by the president of AA powders that H110 and win 296 are identical powders.I have my doubts about this , but that is what he said.A healthy load of 296 always felt like a grenade went off in your hand, whereas; 110 always felt a bit softer.
I have also gotten some great accuracy with IMR 4227 in the .44 mag.You will probably find that the gun likes 2400,4227,296, or 110.My 7 1/2 Redhawk loves 2400.I use to have an 8 3/8 " model 629 that loved 4227.
I always liked the Whelen.I bought a Remington 700 Classic in .350 Rem Mag
back in '87, so I never got around to buying a Whelen since they are ballistic twins.
There is nothing wrong with the M77. Like all guns you can get good ones and bad ones as far as accuracy goes. They are pretty easy to glass bed and float.Sometimes this really helps their accuracy.
The 185 would be fine for small game. You probably won't get the same accurate range out of the .45ACP that you would with the 230.
I would not personally use a 185 on deer.I have killed rabbits and such with my .45
