Yep a wra- 1944, SA-1945, HRA-1953, and a IHC-1954, the are fun to shoot but I really like shooting the '44 m1 inland carbine better- just a fun lil gun.
I love my marlin 1895 guide gun. if you can find one with JM stamped on the barrel-thats the marlin made ones before remington took over and had problems. I put a 1.5-5 power leupold on it-just looks right with the small scope, and it is a shooter. The JM's seem to have a better trigger pull...
20 yrds spike elk, 35 yrds spike elk, 19 paces blackbear and 20 yards blackbear,-al 35 whelen. several blacktail deer between 20 and 40 yards- 35 whelen, 30-30, 6.5x52 carcano. a big doe at 15 yrds w a 22 hornet. My furthest kill was 85 yards with a muzzleloader 50 cal - nice blacktailbuck
So the gun is a rem 700 SE CDL in 264 wm. Leupold dual dovetail base and rings. I had a leupold vx2 4-12 #4 reticle and found I had to have the scope adjustments cranked all the way up just to almost shoot to point of aim at 100yrds. Thinking there I might be something wrong with the scope I...
So I'm thinking of a 6.5 carbine barrel for my contender(original style not encore) I was thinking a 7-30 waters necked down or maybe a 6.5 carcano. I already have everything for carcano. the 6.5-30 I was thinking brass would be easy enough to size down. Or am I wasting time and should use the...
I have the same rifle 700 cdl special edition in 264wm, I put a HS precision stock on mine- because the barrel channel was not cut right if u touched the barrel it would move to the side, also the black plastic nose cap was started to get scraped up for hunting and green plastic was showing...
ruger should chamber a rifle for 35 Newton-since they already are making the 375ruger(ruger) I think a 35 newton would sell better than a 375-just my 2 cents
30 carb is a semi-rimmed but more of a rimless case- PS even if you have carbide dies I recommend a lil bit of case lube since the case is tapered it will go more smoothly resizing. if you have miltary brass the primer pocket might need to be cleaned up to be able to reprime
yep it has taken 2 bears, assisted with a friends bear, 2 Roosvelt elk about 13 blacktail deer, 1 muledeer and a coyote. Its one of those guns that when you pull the trigger something is dead.
Remington 760 2x7 leupold w/ german post #2 reticle, 35 whelen with 250 grn part took this bear at 25 yards- watching a trail that bears use to walk down a ridge. If I go after bear this year I plan to take my marlin guide gun 45-70 with 1.5-5 leupold and probably use a 425 cast bullet going...
I got a rem 760 a previous owner rechambered from 35 rem to Whelen. It wears a Leupoldvx-2 2-7 with german post #2 reticule. It is great here in Western Oregon, anyone I have met that has a Whelen just loves the round. I have used mine for 12 Blacktail deer, 1 muledeer, 2 bull roosevelt elk, 2.5...
