    Must have powders

I have one pound of Reloder 22 and it has 257 Roberts written on the label. It's the only powder that makes my Bob smoke with 110 Accubond.

    Must have powders

It took me a while to remember back when I might have had only four powders on the shelf. It must have been IMR 3031 for 30-30 win, IMR 4350 for 243Win, IMR 4895 for 30-06 semi auto, and my first Hodgdon powder 4831 for 270win and 30-06 bolt. Shortly after that came powders for handguns and...

    220 Swift case issue

Seeing as the necks are always blackened after being fired I'm leaning on fouling. I'll get back after I give it a good scrubbing and shoot some more.

    220 Swift case issue

I'm gonna give the throat an good scrubbing with a carbon remover and see if it repeats.

    220 Swift case issue

These were new cases that I neck sized and deburred and i.d. chamfered. After firing they're still shorter than max.

    220 Swift case issue

I have a new lamp on my reloading bench with a large magnifying glass and on my last batch of fired 220 swift brass I noticed an irregularity on the tip edge of the neck. It appears that the first hundredth or so is tapered after firing. I can't say for sure if this has been occurring all...

    Too Early??? 2025 hunt plans

Quail season in South Texas used to go until the end of February. Back in the day groups often shared hunting leases. The bird hunters had it from 1st Jan to end of Feb. The deer hunters used it for the three months of deer season.

    Signess- I've got it bad

I tried to trade a Glock 43 for a p 365 at a shop in Houston a while back. The guy wouldn't take the trade, said he couldn't move the Glock.

Research article on differences in handloading vs factory loads (only lead-free was studied, but interesting nonetheless)

IMHO, so many different shooters make the results less accurate. In fact adding a human factor makes it inaccurate. The only thing I agreed with was their conclusion that factory ammo is good enough. I did enjoy reading the article none the less.

    This is cool.

That's a really great collection. Are the three partially holowed leg bones in the last frame atlatl handles?

    New MS Rifle

That is a slick looking rifle. Good luck with your hunting. Looking forward to seeing pictures. I recall traveling through the Black Forest in the 70s and seeing shooting houses in all the clearing as we passed by. I thought it would be an adventure to hunt there.

    140gr NBT 7mmMag

Alas I have but a very small amount of Reloder 22 on the shelf. Just enough to keep me in 257 Roberts loads for a few years.

Grand performs the same in 270 win with 150gr bullets. High velocity very low deviations. Best with magnum primers.

Any plans for a new rifle in 2025?

I don't have any needs for a practical rifle or pistol I would have a need for but (pause) I dang fer sure would like a Ruger Blackhawk in 357 convertible and a Winchester 70 Featherweight in 22-250. I think I' like a Leupold 6x scope on that rifle. This would be my Canis Latrans combo for...

    Aftermarket 1911 mags

I thought I would post some photos of 9mm magazines to show the two different ways manufacturers block the magazine due to 9mm round being a bit shorter than a 45 acp. The Mec Gar presses a ridge into the front of the mag. All other companies peen a metal plate down the back of the mag...
