Ouch is right
He showed me a ball of goo with a tannish shard of metal imbedded into it. No idea how many years it could have been in there. The forearm got a sore lump late this spring after a good sunburn started to itch. I think all the scratching festered it up.
My daughter has taken a few deer with this bullet in her 22-250. They work flawless. They shoot well out of my 223 but never had a chance to try for a deer.

Picked up a bunch of these for their decent price today. Going to give them a whirl in the 224 Wby.
I know somewhere I read that the 45-70 was ment to handle the mid lever loads. I know my 35 Whelen doesn’t like to be pushed very hard or the fired brass needs to be popped out with a cleaning rod.
Thank you
The Weatherby Vanguard/Howa 1500 are by far my favorite rifles. In fact I’m probably the only one that has the newer Sheridan WY stamped Vanguard actions in 224 Wby and 375 Wby on the planet.
I’ve never needed a follow up shot with my 308. For years I use the good old 150gr SP , sure sometimes they did a short run until the oil pump ran dry.
The 130gr TTSX is now the preferred bullet in the 308 here.
