Can't say that I do...
I was pretty good with my baton and keep it handy still. It's a three-sided job made of ironwood by a fellow here in Washington. A retired cop who is an Irishman and knows wood. Pretty fine and brutal martial arts guy in his day as well. I never actually smacked anyone...
My hands aren't unusually large, I think the photo magnifies them a bit. Looking back, I think that in my law enforcement career I only slugged two or three criminals. I did however introduce a lot of them to Mr Floor, Mr Wall, and Mr trunk lid or some combo thereof. Resisting arrest isn't a...
Forgetting that you wrote it is pretty funny! At least you know the source of the info. :)
I've been following you on X. Good to see you here. Great forum that Nosler sponsors here!
Welcome! Guy
Springtime here in central Washington, the robins and osprey have returned. Don't have a good osprey photo yet this year, but the robin posed for me while I was walking my dog this morning.
Regards, Guy
A good friend of mine did that same thing! He went a tad too early and got flash-banged. :( Went on to eventually become the team leader, so I'd say he learned from the experience.
I was across the street with my sniper rifle watching and thought "Oh no!" when he went in...

Oh, if you can find some 200 - 220 gr blunt nose bullets for the 38-55 or the 375 Winchester... IMR 4227 is your friend for about a 2,000 fps plinker load. I can't help but think that it would work well on whitetail deer at modest range too. My youngest son was reluctant to shoot my 375 until I...
He probably did, but this is the one he sent to me. I've caught photos of the brass in air from other shooters several times.
One cop I worked with shot a Glock in 40 S&W. Somewhere I have a photo of him with four empty cases in the air! That cop can shoot! Heck of a martial arts fellow too.

Hearing loss is real and can be permanent. Double ear protection is the way to go if at all possible! Ear plugs and ear muffs together do a lot of good.
Muzzle brakes are particularly obnoxious...

And... as it looks now after talking Ernie out of his Ultradot red-dot sight. I'm doing fine with it out to 50-60 yards, but not as tight as I ought to be at 100 yards.
One of the guys I work with is pretty handy with a camera and grabbed this shot of my newer Kimber while I was shooting at the range. I think it looks pretty cool:
At the Police Department we carried 230 grain Federal hollow points. Hydra-Shocks early on, then later I selected a Bonded +P hollow point. We didn't have a lot of shootings, but that bullet did really well for a good friend of mine at extremely close range. The 230's and 45's go together great...
Often on Wheelgun Wednesdays I'll make a point of carrying one of my revolvers. I like revolvers and carrying them at least once a week helps keep me familiar with them. Today, I'll go with the old 2.5" pinned and recessed Model 19 and a cylinder full of 145 grain Winchester Silvertip Hollow...
