Can anyone help with an ID?

Thanks Paul. I was pretty sure it was a Mauser but wasn't sure what model. He's taking a bunch more pics for me at the moment so I can post some more in a bit. He wants $450 for it including the scope, Vari-X 2, so it may be a decent deal. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Can anyone help with an ID?

There's a .257 Roberts posted for sale locally but the seller, and I, isn't sure who the manufacturer is. Looks almost like something for/from the Venezuelan army. Anyone have any idea? I figured someone around on here would for sure know. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Ham? Hocks? How about Bacon?

And bacon. A couple long days and late nights but it's worth it in the end. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    The .270 vs. meat-a-bou

I'm hoping they give out 5K again to make it so. With the herd level as it is I figure they will. I was going to do the Tier 2 registration but with the possibility of higher odds, and not really wanting to limit myself to moose in 13 only, I'm going to try for the draw again. Of course come...

    The .270 vs. meat-a-bou

Good work Hodge. Up in 13 I'm guessing? Hoping to draw that tag next year and work up a load for my 6mm for it. Congratulations! Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Ham? Hocks? How about Bacon?

Thanks Doc. Slaughtered the pigs last month so it was time to get these done for the year. Sausage is next month when I get a day. Dinner's at 6:30 but it's King Salmon off the grill. Sorry, I like to let the hams and such mellow a few days. I feel they taste better. Cmon over though, plenty of...

    Bear sausage...

Bear sausage is awesome. I mix a little home grown pork fat in with it but the brats and Italians I made last year were a hit. Bear ham is a favorite of mine as well. More flavorful than a straight pork one.... especially when you shoot them off the mountain and they've been eating blueberries...

    Ham? Hocks? How about Bacon?

Was a long day yesterday and it's going to be another late night tonight. Hams and hocks are done and mellowing in the fridge. Bacon is on now and should be done round about midnight. I'll have some finished pics of that later I guess. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Back in the Saddle/6mm Quickload Help?

That'd be awesome 6. I'm hoping to draw a caribou permit as well for next season and think this rifle may be my go to for that hunt if I get it as well. Of course I'll have to decide between the E-Tip, Accubonds, BT's or Partitions.... decisions decisions. Such is life. Sent from my XT1254...

Back in the Saddle/6mm Quickload Help?

So I "had" to take a couple years off. The Wife and I bought a new place and other projects took precedence over getting the reloading station set back up but I finally got it completed this weekend. Anyways the new place offers me a great 100yd. range right out the window next to the reloading...

    What I want for 2017...........

Yes, yes, and yes. It's all I want for Christmas.

I'm going to start hunting closer to home!!

Where are you in Anchorage Bear? That last one kind of looks like the one they call the "General" that hangs out around the airport I think. Of course I saw nothing but forks and tweeners down in 15 this year.

    Moose Are Winding Down

Finely diced added to about 4 cups of my own tears, maybe a dash liquid smoke. That's how I prefer mine usually.

Just a heads up. Blemished .308 165 gr. Ballistic Tips are in stock at SPS. I just picked up a couple hundred, but there were 40 some-odd packs in stock.

    244 H & H

There are no restrictions, that I see listed anywhere in the regs., that would prevent someone in Alaska from using FMJ bullets. I also recall hearing about people doing so on another forum. I don't use them personally as I feel they don't/wouldn't provide enough knock down power on an animal...

    2015 Hunting Pictures

How far up the Placer can you get in that jet? I've been trying to pull that tag for years and figured I'd need my canoe if I ever do.

    Drew a cow moose tag!!!

Jealous. I've been putting in for that and 210 for a decade. Oh well, always next year. Good luck on your hunt and be careful. 20 Mile can be a dangerous river for sure.

Can we please get a .........

It was hard enough to get the Accubonds back in stock (for a couple days) for the .375 after over a year waiting. I lucked out and grabbed some but it doesn't seem Nosler is too keen on putting much effort towards the caliber.
