I bought a pair of Zeiss HD last year. Like the glass. My one complaint it the focus kept changing when I would hike with them on a chest rig. They would always drift to the the closest focus point. Shipped them back to Zeiss a month ago. Called last week and all the HD repairs happen in...
I have always thought that on the stormy nights, driving a snow cat must be a little
nervous if you get dis-orientated. Some of the areas are mighty steep.
For those of you who have never been to Bend, Oregon. This picture was taken today at Mt Bacholer, which is about 20 minutes from Bend. Great blue bird day of skiing.
Joel. Nice '06 loads. I am going to break in a new Sako this coming week. Hope she shoots like that. Loaded everything from 150 e-tips to 180 AB. For my other '06 with 180 gr bullets RL-22 has a proven record. I loaded the 180 AB with Hunter.
Cheers
Thoughts about the 168 gr vs 150 e-tip compared to a 180 AB for a 22 inch barrel 30-06 for elk?
I know the 180 AB is great elk medicine, but if trying the E-tip would you try 150 for the velocity or the 168 for the large BC ?
Thanks
Eric
I have had a couple 7400s mostly in 35 Whelen
When I got the first one, I call Remington because of all the internet chatter about the rifles being jamming machines. The Remington gunsmith recommended two things: Heavy for caliber bullets to fully cycle the action a d most importantly, was a...
It was nice Accubond expansion.
No pictures. In the part of the Oregon coastal area I was in, there is no cell phone reception, so it was in the truck. Bear was only 150ish lbs. Little sow, but will make great bear sausage.
160 AB from a 280 Rem.
Range was 185 yds. Hit the bear face on and found the bullet opposite side behind the ribs inside the cutaneous fat. Broke the jaw and a few ribs.
I have a couple Marlin 375s and a W94 in 375. Really liking the 375, just hard to find components.
Recently bought a nice older Marlin in 30/30 (pre-safety) would be great if it were a 35 Rem.
My favorite lever gun round. It looks just like a mini-45/70. I have a pair of Marlins and a Winchester.
The 220s are rare to come across. If you want to try some 235 gr cast., i bought some from Carolina Cast that have shot well
As I look over the data, just does not seem to be much difference (150-200 FPS) difference.
I have a Savage 6.5-285 Norma with a long action that I can seat the bullets long.
I also have a Sako Finnlight in 6.5 Swede that also allows the bullets to be seated long.
They both shoot well, just...
