I’ve tried to get the ablr to shoot in 6.5, 7mm; 308 (in three different cartridges), 338. Gave up on all. Conversely I have good loads in all those with the regular AB.
My #1 is very accurate with 100 gr BT. Ok with 110gr Accubonds but they have been hard to find. The rifle really doesn’t care for anything 115 or higher. Best I can tell it is 1/10. She liked the 92 gr. Hammer as well. This particular rifle really only shoots the 100gr BT well, 3/4 moa...
Sending off my ruger 257 roberts for a new barrel, I never should have bought a bore scope. Anyway going to have PAC NOR make me a 257 AI. Looking at 6 months out. Want to be able to shoot the heavier monos perhaps. Thinking on a 1/8.5 instead of the standard 1/10. What say you all?

Cancer update:
When I left for Montana about two weeks ago my son in law was headed to Boise for another follow up on his cancer. When I got home tuesday I learned the test showed the cancer is back. They have recommended surgery as soon as possible. That will be early December we hope. They...
Well done, love that country though I’ve yet to hunt deer there. For a number of years we made an annual pilgrimage to SD for pheasants and such. Could not believe the numbers of deer we saw. Perfect looking bullet.
I’ll be in Tucson probably before Christmas. We were trying to leave before thanksgiving but things change. In any event I’ll get in touch and we can compare notes. I am also heading over in May. Get well soon.
The hunt was a bit like the end of your hunt Dan. My buddy and I had worked up a ridge, great Mule deer country. Scattered Ponderosa pine, bitter brush, some true fir and lodgepole pine. We had climbed up opposite spines to about 6500 feet where we joined up and started working along a long...
That is a dandy. I gotta get into whitetail hunting a little more. We saw quite a few on our Montana trip last week, they are so sneaky compared to elk or mule deer.
