All,
I'm looking at doing another spring bear hunt in Idaho in late May to early June, but I don't want to use a guide this time. However, that creates a conundrum for me as I don't have:
A tent
A tent stove
Pack animals
Tack
etc.
Want to do a 2 bear area for myself and one or two others...
And you are absolutely correct. As I said, I think those look amazing, I simply do not see that there is sufficient value in them - for me - to spend the money on them. Looking at the two side by side, I also find it interesting that the heavier bullet actually averages less penetration than...
Call me Mr Unadventurous, but I just use Win 115 JHP, which I didn't see on their list. I like it because I can but enough of it to shoot multiple mags through a pistol and not go bankrupt by mid-week. The HST look amazing, but is it that much more amazing than the 115gr Gold Dot, for example?
Well, after a couple of very cold nights, it looks like temps are on the rise here. I was worried about a killing frost taking the blossoms off the trees, but in spite of sub 30 temps, it looks like the cherries came through. Only think the wife can think is that humidity was low enough to...
+1 - I have 3-4 of these scattered around. They are inexpensive enough to toss one in the range bag, have one on the bench, and another hanging around just in case. They come in a variety of colours, and will take a permanent marker so you can identify them as yours. At least, they used to...
They both look like they'd do whatever you'd ask of them. Seems like the velocity isn't much of a handicap, at least that 10 feet, but based on the extent of the expansion, I doubt 7 yards, or 27 yards would be a whole lot different.
I scribble incomprehensible notes in the margins of my load books. I'm sure it makes sense when I do it, but I honestly can't figure out half my loads now. Also, don't use pencil.
It's been awfully warm here, too, but now we're in for a bit of a cold snap. I worry that a lot of farmers are going to start in on the field and get bit with an April frost. Hope I'm wrong.
That is such a pretty revolver. Can't argue with the caliber, either for an all-around, do basically everything revolver.
I like the photo, too. Lot of talent gathered there.
