I'm on the list and waiting for a phone call. JD338s list is very close to my list of reasons why I need a 45-70. I should buy a box of bullets, brass or dies first then I have to buy the rifle!!!
Great info guys. I'm not worried about weight. I will be walking to my stand and sitting over small plots, water tanks or trails. Joec7651, I like the load you posted. Please keep posting on why I need to buy this one.
Since there is no other group on the internet who can spend a guy's money, like the guys on Nosler Forum, I figured I would bring my latest idea here to see what everyone thinks. I have not bought a new rifle in a while due to other wants and wishes but I have the bug real bad. I'm thinking...
This spring I went 4/4.
16ga tss #9 --42 yards
12ga tss #9 --48 yards
28ga tss #9.5 --14 yards
20ga tss #9 --51 yards
All hand loads from 870s.
My goal is to add the 410 to the list for next spring.
My friend bought a new Tikka 7-08 and I'm helping him get started in reloading. Today we took his Starline brass and prepped it up and loaded up 10 rounds. This is where I hit some confusion. He has 130 Hot Cors and IMR4350 for his loads. Speer manual says, 46.0 gr for a staring load and...
Thanks for all the kind words. I got the lion in western Colorado. The plan is to do a pedestal mount. I want to keep it simple and clean. Very little or no habitat.
I have always dreamed of hunting mountain lions out west. For this hunt I I used my great grandfather's 30-30 that has never hunted before. He won it in a bar and gave it to my uncle who doesn't hunt. Because of the history, I figured it would be cool to use. I will give a quick recap of my...
Quick question, where is the best place to find a donor rifle? I'm looking for a Rem 700 or Savage that I can rebarrel myself? I would really like a short action with a 308 bolt face. Any suggestions?
I finally got my 6.5-06 up and running this summer. The thing is a dream to shoot and it loves every bullet I have tired. 143 eldx, 130 AB, 140 Btip and the 129 interlock. I really like it and plan on keeping it for a looong time.
Hey guys. It has been stressful at work so to stop my brain from overload, I started thinking about fun stuff. In talking to Scotty, he mentioned a 22cm with a fast twist to shoot the heavy bullets. I'm wondering if anyone has messed with one? I have a lead on a Savage 110 action in 30-06...
Thanks for the info. I talked to one of the quality control guys who shoots rifles every day at the factory. They don't make all the center fire rifles in Rice Lake. The only make the 30-30 and 45-70 for rifle rounds here I guess.
I was really hoping they made the 38-55 here but for now it...
