How to determine slide spring poundage?

That is neat and simple. I wondered about using my fish weight scale which has a hook on the bottom end, and put a zip tie or a heavy string under the muzzle, hook the other end to the fish scale and pull the slide back with the scale until it barely extends 100% to compress the spring and get...

How to determine slide spring poundage?

I have two Kimbers that I like to check for spring poundage? I may have swapped different poundage springs 15 odd years ago, and i havent been using the Kimbers at all. It's been in the case ever since and I want to determine what poundage the springs are? How do I verify this?

Do you wear latex gloves while reloading?

I use Kroil on rags to wipe carbon off the cases before annealing / sizing. My hands would stink of Kroil after washing my hands as well. I could try to wear a pair of gloves next time when using it.

Do you wear latex gloves while reloading?

Just a thought that came across, do any of you guys wear latex gloves while reloading? We have been seeing warning labels on ammo accessories like lead and chemicals, etc. I never wore gloves while reloading, but always wash my hands thoroughly after handling and reloading ammo. My wife has a...

    Garden Raider 2025

I love the 168 BT for my .308, but was not able to find any for years. I currently have the 165 BT as a replacement. The 168 shoots a little tighter than the 165's. Good job on the woodchucks.

    Meat Loaf Meal

Looks delicious. We make venison and nilgai meatloaf from time to time, once you dig in, its no stopping you. 😁 The ketchupy home made topping on top goes well with it. Thinking to make some next week, but I want to do either a brisket smoke or a BBQ first. Been a while since we had a BBQ.

I laughed a Little Too Hard. Relatable

That is funny, imagine getting a rash sliding down that tree. I never had a climbing stand. You never know when accidents can happen. I knew a guy that I did not frequent very much with over a period of 20 years, he sent me a text with a picture of a 10 foot bowhunting tripod he built but I...

    Carbon buildup and Reloder 16?

Have you a borescope to check the bore? I would like to check the bore and see the condition it is in after cleaning. It's strange that velocity dropped 200 fps after cleaning. Has it been shooting same groups as before prior to cleaning?

    Plinking Powder

Keep us posted on how she shoots. At 2200 fps with 500 grains is north of 5300 foot lbs of energy.

    Plinking Powder

Nice rifle, are you sure this big bore is just for plinking or for some deer coming in winter? 😁 I'm sure it will be a deer thumper.

About to can tomatoes for spaghetti sauce

I seeded early in the season in 4 inch pots even though it was cold off and on outdoors. I would bring in the young plants at night or put them in my shed with grow lights during cold spells. I would take them outside for a few hours of sun until they get hardy, once frost is over around March I...

About to can tomatoes for spaghetti sauce

Plucked some Paisano tomatoes, its similar to San Marzano, from the 13 plants I have in the backyard. The first batch was in small clusters on the lower stems, and that was picked last week after ripening on the vine. I had placed clusters of tomatoes in mesh bags while ripening on the vine to...

Completed transition from Alliant to Hodgdon...

I In the past I have used a lot of Alliant powders mostly, and nowadays I have transitioned to Hodgdon powders the last several years. I only use whatever is left of RL22, RL25 and RL 26 mainly for my 300 Win Mag, as for the RL 17, its just been sitting on the shelf for more than 5 years, never...

    Lentil Soup And Grilled Cheese

Looks great. I love grilled cheese. We had made some potato soup with crumbled spicy Italian sausage, potato, carrots, celery and kale from our garden. Tastes great, we make soup weekly to keep up with the 6 kales we planted in the raised beds.
