Saw Winchester Defender Close Range copper plated #2 loads in the gun store this weekend. They had them both in 20 and 12 gauge showing 1145fps. May be something new since I hadn't seen them before.
I run a very similar bullet made with a mold made by Accurate. I've shot them out of two different .44 Mag pistols using 2400 and H110. I prefer the 2400 since it has a lower muzzle blast in my opinion. They've been used on whitetails and coyotes. We've never had one stop even on quartering...
My .308 is not very heavy and I don't shoot very far where I hunt so I settled on the 125 grain Accubond, CCI LR primer with W-748 power. Gets roughly 2945 out of a 20" barrel and kills pretty good on coyotes and white tails.
All, I've been working up loads for a Remington Model 7 300 SAUM but keep having cracked necks on the brass. Brass is probably 20yrs old but unfired. First load on new cases everything looks fine. Second load results in cracked necks on almost 60% of the few cases I have fired but no obivious...
I've killed a few things with the 125gr and 150gr .308., 90gr .243 and 100gr 6.8 Accubonds. Everything has died but they don't expand like a Ballistic Tip but dead id dead.
All, If someone could possibly assist by running quickload for the 300 SAUM with 165 Speer Spitzer (2.800"), 150 Accubond and 180 Ballistic Tip both at 2.825". Powders will be H4350, RE-17 and W760. Appreciate any assistance anyone can provide.
All, Curious if any one has experience using the 150 grain Accubond and 150/165 grain Speer Hot Cor bullets in the Model Seven 300 SAUM? Have half a dozen manuals but was curious of what you have found to be the best powder/primer combo using Remington brass. Also have some 150 grain Bronze...
Thanks Dr. Mike! Does QuickLoad not cover Win748, Varget or BL-C2? I've had good accuracy from 748 but I don't ever remember running it across the chrony.
All, I tried searching for this but apparently my google-fu is weak. Is it possible to run a QuickLoad estimate for the 30-30AI using the 125 grain Ballistic Tip in the Thompson Contender with a 14" barrel? Appreciate your assistance!
Nice bass. My favorite way to catch bass is to fish at night using spinner baits with a single Colorado blade. Many people recommend dark colored skirts but I've done my best with lime or fire tiger.
