Well said, steve.
The only thing we have that is new might be bullets that can handle some of the old wildcats like the 30-378wby etc. I'd have to say I think the RUM family of rounds is likely a remake of some wildcat based on a 404 jeffery.....
The 338LM too is a remake of an existing idea...
Nice shooting DF. Great fun to be out "power putting" eh?? The first time I shot golf balls was with a 6.5mm Rem Mag 600 mohawk off a bipod at 100yds and it went three for three.
I haven`t shot enough recently to attempt that at 200 +. I may try a tennis ball tho, I have found that to be a...
I had found a 278 ulta mag online via google, sometime back. It was on a gunsmith's site. I then called around and a reamer shop gave me the print for it.
I opened up the print and lo and behold there was a phone number and the name of the reamer designer, so I called him up. The guy was not...
I'll let you guys know when it is finally put togather, still going to be awhile. However, the waiting will soon be broken up by hunting insted of working most of the time.

I have a 1-8.5" poly 6.5mm barrel chambered in 264 win with a turn neck. It is a medium palma weight 31" and is a tackdriver. It's limited to 3050FPS, I can't seem to keep the pressure down on it. It has 100 rounds thro it and is limited to the velocities that my 26" winchester 70 would reach...
Well, I have built a custom once before and was sorely disappointed with the results.
So, I went back to the drawing board and tried again. Ordered a 30" Pac Nor Super Match SS barrel with a 1-12" twist prefit for the 6.5mm RUM.
My objective is to be able to hunt coyotes at 800-1200yds with...
I'd say a weatherby ultralight in 270 wby or 280AI, The 280 only weighs 5.75lbs. and a brake is a factry option. I know I can't afford one, but they fit the bill the best. I found the T3 tikka in a ss/syn to be a very rigid rifle that had severe recoil chambered in a 300 win and I am not recoil...
Well, I ended up buying a Norinco 1911A1-C Commander and trading for a second one. The first was the stubby beavertail model in parkerized finish and it shot very well. The second one is the high gloss full beavertail model. They both shot very well. I ended up keeping the full beavertail model...
Forester makes a decent hand held unit too, but I think you're on the right track neck turning. I have a plain Wby Vanguard Sporter and it shoots 1/2 MOA consisitently with neck turned 7mm brass that has been resized and fireformed. On the intial and subsequent uses.
Your Christensian should be...
Oh yeah, I couldn't hit a round bale with mine for the most part   I sold it rather than trying to find a NM trigger for it. I guess I'm spoiled with my bolt triggers.

NICE AR, the flip up rear sights are nice. I had an ARMS flip up with the small and large apeture on my LH Stag. I always figured that front flip up would be so much nicer for the scope too.
Are you putting a rail spacer on it to bring the scope up to a normal eye relief??

The 9.3X62 Mauser is supposed to be a fairly potent round. It has that classic 375 H&H, 2500FPS flair to it. A big bullet at a decent velocity, I can't see why it wouldn't make an excellent moose rifle.
I'd be interested in how that round performs.
This stupid savage had my attention when I first built it, now that I got a barrel wrench things could get interesting.
I did manage to locate a savage 110 bolt with a 30-06 boltface too.
