I will. I had the super set up with the scope and groups were running 2.5" at 100 yards but I yanked it before I tried to tighten it up. The open sighted Rowland has shot 40 yard groups when my eyes are working right at an inch.
I fnally got my .460 Rowland set up for long range together. It is a blast to shoot. Runs like a Swiss watch. I have been working with Nosler 250 grains and Power Pistol powder. A bit more developement to do but on the right track. Bar-Sto barrel. All hand fit. Carver mounts with Crimson Trace...
I am trying to find data for the Hawk 235 grain .411 bullet for use in the .405 Winchester. I located some several years ago and I cna remember where. Its going in a Ruger #1. Really cool rifle.
So far with RL7 using 300 grain Partitions and 300 Grain Sierras. We pushed it (pressure testing ) all the way to 43,000 PSI. At the top end it gets velocity all out of proportion to its capacity. The new 1200-E is going to beat that.
Scary thing is some new powders and data are going to let it make even more power. This was all planned out. I have some custom bullets that seat forward more from the case mouth that open up powder capacity. I imagine that .458 is fun as well. I have one in a rifle but not a handgun.
Its a custom. SSK Barrel, brake and mounts. Tony Gettle stocks. Lots of hand work. Badly beating the 45-70. New powders to try soon. It wil now break the 4000 ft lbs. barrier in a handgun. Really fun to shoot.
I know some of you have already seen it but here is my .450 Marlin. I sitll have my stash of 300 grain Partitions. Working with some new powder.
Alliant 1200-R. They have data for the 300 grain Speer. I talked to them last night so I have starting data for the Partition. I should be able to...
I will. Going to sart tearing it down soon. Nothing like having another gun that I have plenty of brass and bullets for. The 444 is one of the most underated cartridges in existence.
The 444 with the buck is the gun that is getting fixed up. The gun with the doe is the 1964 early produciton gun. I swapped the scope out on the 1964
to a more correct steel tube Weaver. I need to do some new pics.
Some time back I started working on a 1968 model 444 first model. The gun is a...
Well we have already started eating that doe. Excellent meat.
I scoped the 45 Super since the last deer. 2.5" groups at 100 yards but expecting better. A work in progress.
Those were shot with the Buffalo Bore 230gr JHP which is loaded with an XTP. It did a great job. Pretty much duplicates the damage I see from my 44 Magnums.
