Baling wire and duct tape, hell I know guys who have repaired super cubs with that. Amazing what can be accomplished, at least for a while, just by using a little “yard craft”.
I’ve shot a couple of black tail deer with the 375HH. Years ago but as I recall I probably did so with 300 gr Partitions. What I recall most is they were dead, deader is of course better. No bullets recovered and you could eat right up to the hole.
I’ve never shot a Nilgai, hell I’ve only seen two while touring through south Texas a couple years ago. I’ve seen a number of elk killed with the 180ttsx out of 300mags of various persuasion and 06s. They were all dead when we determined the bullet worked as advertised.
The PH I had last time I was in South Africa carried a Canik. I fired a magazine through it and found it perfectly acceptable with that limited exposure.

I’ve come to the conclusion that 1x6 or 1x8 is adequate out to 400 yards as I can easily resolve 10” steel plates at that range. I’ve only taken a few shots beyond that distance on game just leaves me thinking I’d like a little less weight and a cleaner profile on my #1s. Can’t think of anything...
