I just thought 2920 fps was pretty quick for a 17" barrel

I have a complete custom 28 Nosler (Left-Hand Action-Not Nosler) with a 8.5T (Brux), and a muzzle brake, with a Manners stock that has never been fired yet. Think it has a Jewell trigger I won't be taking anyone's place...

Nice Rig! I like Triple Nickel, I just have not used it that much yet. Again, Welcome! I don't use the AR platform much, and I tend to use shorty barrels (single-shots the majority of the time).

Welcome @MSR_Gal ! If, you are a gal, it is great to have a lady in the group. Second, your preference for the 27's, and the Wildcat cartridges will be fun to read about. Are you running the 270 AR and 270 MSR in AR platforms or bolt rigs?

@MO Whitetails, For a 18 inch 7mm Rem Mag Ackley Improved with 180's...I use H-1000 For a 18" 6.5-300 WSM with 130's and 140's...I use H-1000 Just giving examples.

I have Varget. Do you have a start and a max load for Varget with a 250 grain?

What is the start and Max load for CFE223?

@JD338 , Do you think CFE 223 would be the powder to start with?

This barrel is a short one - 14" What powders have worked for you guys in the 250 grain class weight for the 375 H&H? I already have some 248 grain Hammer Hunter bullets. There is no need for me to run this thing to the max, just functional for killing out to about 250 yards

@FOTIS @JD338 @Guy Miner and others, Since we are on a 375 H&H thread, anyone use the lighter weight mono's? If so, what bullet and powder please?

I think it is more of a what do I want/like here. Guessing the 22-250 might feed a little better because of case design.

@Ralt71 When I was recommending bullets, I was recommending bullets just for the competition. At first, I thought you were going to be shooting 600 or 1000 yards. Now, that I realize you are shooting out to 300 yards, I would rather you shoot a lighter weight bullet. The ballistic coefficient...

@Ralt71 , I was assuming 600 or 1000 since you were going to use the 7RM. A 150, 160 or 162 would be plenty fine for these distances. I would encourage a smaller cartridge to dip your toe in the water. One lower in recoil and in concussion

@Ralt71 , Nothing wrong with dipping your toe in the water, with what you have. Is this a 600 yard or 1k match?
