See my post from last year, same rifle, same load.

This year, the target was a very nice 4x4 blacktailk from 423 yards. Both bullets hit right behind the shoulder, and both exit woulds were about 1.5-2.0" in diameter. No tracking was needed, for the buck fell after...
I think the 700 Classic is the only factory sporting rifle ever chambered in 8x57 in America. I could be wrong though. That should add some "cool" factor to it for you guys.
Well, now that our governor resigned, we are stuck with the country's first openly bi-sexual secretary of state as the acting governor. What's next? A child will get arrested on murder charges for bringing a peanut butter sandwich to a school that has half the students carrying communicable and...
A bald eagle died here in Southern Oregon at a wildlife rehab center. The eagle was found to have died from lead poisoning, and the biologist claimed that it was from lead bullet fragments.

Magpro and RL22 are your friends when it comes to the 270WSM and 140gr Accubonds. There are so many powders that will work well, but these two have been the outstanding performers for me in several 270WSM rifles. RL17, RL19 and AA4831 are my preverence with 130gr bullets.
IMR4831for 140gr bullets and IMR7828ssc for 150gr and above. The Grand Slam is a flat base bullet. You might try a boattail to see if your rifle is picky about bullet design. I've had a few rifles show a preference one way or the other, including a .243 that hated 100gr bullets of any style, but...
7828ssc opens new doors for the .243 Win with 100gr bullets. RL19 is my preference for 80-90gr bullets. Any of the 4350's and slower should give you a good starting place.
I've gone away from the 130gr Accubond in the 270WSM due to what I feel is a lack of penetration on blacktail deer. These were not failures, but not what I expected from this bullet. I also had a 165gr Partition stop on the on-side hide of a deer. The front part of the jacket got stuck in the...
Guys, he made this sound easy. Trust me, hunting blacktails is far from easy. You can spend an entire season doing exactly what NWBlacktail did without seeing a legal buck. Nice job on a nice looking blacktail. I always love hearing about Oregon blacktails.
I wouldn't be disappointed with the blued/wood version at all. That is a fantastic looking rifle and in a cartridge that is more practical than most realize. Yes, the 9.3 has some serious cool factor to it!
I only hunted two mornings and did not see a legal buck. No matter, for I had the high mountain timber virtually to myself. It's quite strange only hearing one other vehicle driving on the roads and just a handfull of rifle shots off in the distance. My time is generally spent bow hunting...
I always spin the round and get a few more measurements before I'm satisfied with the final number. Between bullet ogive differnential, runout, and amount of pressure you put on the caliper, your readings don't seem out of line at all. Same goes for when you measure the length to the lands of...
Well, I had a reply entered and almost ready to send, but my iPhone 5 froze up AGAIN, and my detailed accounts of 25-06 kills are now lost in the phantom cloud. No more Apple for me.
Back to the 25-06! I love it. It is the easiest shooting cartridge that allows you to shoot game effectively at...
I don't think there is a bad powder for tne 300 WSM. H4350 seems to be the first to try to get a feel for what your rifle will do. RL19 is a goto powder, as are several others, until RL17 showed up. RL17 has given me consistently more velocity, more consitency, and better accuracy than any other...
